The Maroons dominated on paper as they won, 46-38 in shots, 50-32 in groundballs and 22-of-27 face-offs on the evening.

Down 3-2 after one quarter of play, the Maroons scored five of the next six goals to give them a 7-4 lead at the half.

The Maroons came out in the second half the same way they did to close the half. They continued their scoring with two quick goals to give them a 9-4 lead with 12:33 left in the third period. Tim Hammernick scored off an assist from Steve Simmons to give Roanoke a five-goal lead.

From that point on, the Lords scored 10 of the last 12 goals to escape Salem with their second win of the season.
