After the Maroons had tied the score at 10 with the last three goals of the third quarter, Lynchburg's Charlie Enman scored just under three minutes into the fourth on a shot from about 12 yards out. Kevin Reinecke and Kip Campbell each added fourth quarter scores for the Hornets, who had outscored the Maroons 6-1 in the fourth quarter in a win on Saturday. Brandon Childs assisted on Lynchburg 13th and final goal, one of five assists on the day for him.

The Maroons had tied the score with 8:40 to play in the third on a goal from Andy Bonasera. Bonasera scored two goals and added an assist as the Maroons clawed back from a 10-7 deficit in the third. All three of the Maroons' goals in that run came in the span of 56 seconds. Bonasera's first goal of the run was a man-up goal.

The Hornets took early control, as they have in each of the past three games with the Maroons, outscoring the host 6-3 in the opening period. The Maroons had leads of 1-0 and 2-1, but Lynchburg scored three consecutive goals in the first to take the lead. Childs had a goal and an assist in the 3-0 run. He assisted a man-up goal by Kip Campbell, one of four LC EMO goals in the game. After the Maroons scored a man-up goal of their own, the Hornets scored two more in a row, including one from Toby Costello coming out of a timeout. Lynchburg scored it's six goals in the first quarter on 10 shots.

The two teams played to a 3-3 tie in the second 15 minutes of play and the Hornets went into the half with a 9-6 lead. Roanoke's Tim Morse (Santa Fe, NM/Tabor) made six saves in both the second and third quarters, several in the third that helped the Maroons keep their 3-0 run alive. He finished the day with 17 stops. Nick Braun made eight in the winning effort for the Hornets.

Childs finished the day with a goal and five assists, while Campbell, Reinecke, and Enman each scored three times. Midfielder Paul Venturella added two assists, while LC's leading scorer Billy McCulloch was held to just one goal.
