The Game Story:
LEXINGTON, Va. -- The second-ranked Gettysburg men's lacrosse team had
10 different goal-scorers in posting a 14-5 win over Washington and Lee
on Saturday afternoon at Wilson Field.

The Bullets (1-0) jumped out to a 5-0 lead before the Generals dented
the scoreboard with an unassisted goal by sophomore midfielder Harry St.
John (Essex Fells, N.J./West Essex) with 7:54 remaining in the second
quarter. Gettysburg then went on to score the game's next four goals and
carried a 9-1 lead into halftime.

W&L (1-2) opened the second-half scoring on an man-up goal by St. John
off an assist from sophomore attackman Tim Skeen (Baltimore,
Md./Towson), but again the Bullets answered with a pair of goals to go
up 11-2 in cruising to their second-straight victory over the Generals.

St. John led W&L with three goals, while Skeen contributed one goal and
a pair of assists. Senior goalkeeper Chris Lalli (Cranbury,
N.J./Princeton) played nearly 58 minutes in goal and posted 15 saves.

Junior attackman Trip Dyer (Ocean View, Del./Worcester Prep) paced
Gettysburg with two goals and one assist. Senior midfielders Kevin
Freehill (Baldwin, N.Y./Baldwin), Jimmy Gates (Basking Ridge,
N.J./Ridge) and Ted Leonard (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) added two
goals apiece. Senior goalie Pat Vaughan (Cockeysville, Md./Loyola)
played all 60 minutes between the pipes and recorded five saves.

Washington and Lee returns to action on Saturday as it travels to
Washington College for a 7:00 pm contest.
