The Game Story:
The College at Brockport Men's Lacrosse team lost its fourth straight State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) game in a row as the Golden Eagles fell behind early and dropped a 17-2 decision to No. 4 nationally ranked SUNY Cortland at Special Olympics Stadium in Brockport.

The 15-goal deficit is the worst loss for the Golden Eagles in two years dating back to when Geneseo defeated Brockport 18-2 on April 12, 2006.

Brockport (5-5, 0-4 SUNYAC) played a tough first quarter limiting the Red Dragons potent attack to only two first quarter goals, despite being outshot 9-2 and losing the groundball battle 13-4.

The Red Dragons (10-1, 4-0 SUNYAC) two leading scorers, Ryan Heath and Billy Fuchs took over in the second quarter as each scored three times accounting for all six of the Cortland goals pushing the lead to 8-0 at halftime.

Heath was at it again scoring the first goal of the second half four and a half minutes in for a 9-0 lead. After three more Cortland goals, Brockport freshman Mike McSweeney (Marcellus, NY/Marcellus) ended the drought and put the Golden Eagles on the board with a third quarter goal off of an assist from fellow freshman Mike Tammaro (Painted Post, NY/Corning West) with 3:39 to play.

In the final quarter, junior Joe Gomez (Amherst, NY/Amherst) scored an unassisted goal with 12:03 to play to account for all of the Brockport scoring.

Junior Garret Allwes (Amherst, NY/Amherst) picked up the loss in goal allowing nine goals in just over 26 minutes of play, and making six saves for the Golden Eagles.
