|  |  | | Current Record : (5-3) | Current Record : (7-1) |  |  | | Go to team page > | Go to team page > | | | | | | The Game Story: | Sophomore Adam Drypolcher (Manlius, NY/Fayetteville-Manlius) and freshman Mike Tammaro (Painted Post, NY/Corning West) combined for all nine of The College at Brockport Men�s Lacrosse goals, but the Golden Eagles fell to State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) opponent SUNY Geneseo 16-9 on Wednesday afternoon at Special Olympics Stadium in Brockport.
Drypolcher led the Golden Eagles (5-3, 0-2 SUNYAC) with a career-high five goals and Tammaro scored a career-high four goals and also added two assists on the game.
Geneseo (7-1, 2-0 SUNYAC) scored the first four goals as senior Mike Pizzuto assisted on each of them to give the Knights a 4-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.
In the second quarter, Tammaro scored ten seconds into the period and then added another two minutes later cutting the Geneseo lead in half at 4-2. Drypolcher scored his first of the game two minutes after that cutting the lead to 4-3 with 11 minutes to play in the first half. The Knights would respond by scoring three straight goals, before Tammaro closed the first half with a man-up goal with 13 seconds to play as Geneseo took a 7-4 lead into the break.
In the third quarter, the two teams exchanged goals before Drypolcher connected on two straight bringing the Golden Eagles within two goals at 9-7 with 3:25 remaining in the quarter. Geneseo would tack on two late quarter goals for an 11-7 lead heading into the fourth.
Drypolcher scored his fifth of the game and 18th of the season a little over three minutes into the quarter cutting the Geneseo lead to 11-8. After a Geneseo goal, Tammaro scored his fourth of the game bringing Brockport within three goals, and the closest they would get, at 12-9 with 10 minutes to play.
The Knights would add on four goals over the last seven minutes, as Brockport dropped its second straight SUNYAC contest to begin Conference play.
Geneseo was led by Mike Pizzuto with three goals and six assists, while Craig Lange chipped in with four goals, and Joe Malach added three goals of his own. Dennis Costanza made eight saves, earning the win in goal for the Knights.
Drypolcher scored five times and Tammaro added four goals and two assists to lead Brockport. Junior Joe Gomez (Amherst, NY/Amherst) chipped in with two assists. Junior Garret Allwes (Amherst, NY/Amherst) played all 60 minutes in goal and made nine saves for the Golden Eagles.
