The Game Story:
Rochester, NY -- The Rochester Rattlers blasted the Philadelphia Barrage 22-9 at PAETEC Park tonight to remain the only unbeaten team in Major League Lacrosse. The Rattlers improved to a franchise record 3-0 and handed Philadelphia (2-1) its first loss of the season.

Rochester, NY -- The Rochester Rattlers blasted the Philadelphia Barrage 22-9 at PAETEC Park tonight to remain the only unbeaten team in Major League Lacrosse. The Rattlers improved to a franchise record 3-0 and handed Philadelphia (2-1) its first loss of the season.

The game was the first of two games between the two clubs. The next installment is on Saturday, June 21st in Cary, NC. Rochester is now 4-5 against the Barrage, but split the 2007 season series.

John Grant led Rochester (4 2 3) with nine points and broke the team’s all-time points record. Casey Powell added three goals and two assists to fall one point shy of tying Mark Millon’s all-time league points record of 356. Joe Walters (6 1) and Jeff Zywicki (4 1) also had big games for the Rattlers. Further, Alex Smith tied his own single-game team record, winning 25 faceoffs.

Mike Levin earned the win in goal, making 12 saves. Rookie Brett Queener also notched five saves on five shots in his professional debut.

Philadelphia was led by five points from Justin Smith (2 3). Goalie Brian Dougherty made 17 saves in the loss.

Rochester’s Chris Schiller tied the game at three in the first quarter and never trailed. The Rattlers put up six points in the first and second quarters to lead 12-6 at halftime. In the third, the Rattlers continued the onslaught and tallied five points. Rochester outscored Philadelphia 10-3 in the second half, which included a 5-0 run in the fourth quarter. Rochester has now owned the fourth quarter, outscoring its opponents 17-1.
