The Game Story:
LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Riptide experienced a difficult 17-13 loss to the Chicago Machine Sunday afternoon ending their three game winning streak at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Illinois.

The Riptide led 5-1 at the first quarter thanks to two goals from rookie attackman Kevin Huntley and one a piece from midfielders Anthony Kelly, Chazz Woodson and Jimmy Borell.

Los Angeles continued its momentum early in the second stanza as well, scoring three more times in the first seven minutes to go up 8-1. The hosts then scored three times in rapid succession including a two-pointer to trim the Riptide lead to 8-5. However, Los Angels used a two-goal spurt in less than a minute late in the quarter to gain a 10-6 lead at the half.

The hosts had the better of the play in the third, storming from behind to tie the score 12-12 at the quarter on a Jeff Bigas two-pointer with 51 ticks left on the clock.

The teams traded goals to start the fourth and were tied 13-all, but it was all Machine after that; they found the net four more times in the final eight minutes and walked off the field 17-13 victors.
