The Game Story:
SAN JOSE, Calif. - Using a strong offensive effort, the Boston Cannons recorded their third straight victory by scoring a season-high 21 points in a 21-14 victory over the San Francisco Dragons at Spartan Stadium on Saturday night.

Mikey Powell was named as the Bud Light MVP after scoring three goals with five assists.

After the teams battled to a 2-2 tie in the first eight minutes of the opening quarter, the Cannons exploded for nine straight points, including a pair of goals from rookie midfielder Paul Rabil, to take an 11-2 lead with 5:28 left in the second quarter.

Led by two goals from newly-acquired midfielder Bill McGlone, the Dragons closed to within 13-5 by scoring three of the final five goals in the first half.

The teams traded goals twice to start the third quarter before Lewis Ratcliff and Brendan Loftus ended the third quarter with back-to-back tallies, giving the Cannons a 15-9 edge heading into the fourth quarter.

Led by a pair of goals from Rabil, the Cannons extended their advantage to 18-9 with three straight goals before the Dragons put together a five-point run, including a two-point goal from Jake Byrne, to cut the deficit to 18-14.

However, the Cannons scored three straight goals, including two from Tom Zummo, to secure the victory.

While Powell led the Cannons with eight points, Zummo added five goals. Rabil and Matt Poskay each tallied four goals for Boston, which outshot the Dragons by a 48-44 margin.

Ratcliff led San Francisco with four goals and an assist.
