The Game Story:
SAN JOSE, CA (August 2nd, 2009) - It was a tale of two halves Saturday night in San Jose, but when the dust settled, it was attackman Kevin Huntley and the Los Angeles Riptide who prevailed, by a score of 15-9. Huntley was named the game's MVP for his seven goal performance for the Riptide.

Despite the high scoring ending, only a total of five goals were scored in the first half, including a scoreless second quarter, only the second scoreless quarter of play in Major League Lacrosse history. Huntley's goal just 5:51 into the game made it 4-1 Los Angeles, a score that would remain until San Francisco's Bill McGlone ended the game's 24:55 scoreless drought 46 seconds into the third quarter. The two teams combined for a total of 19 goals in the second half.

Six different Dragons combined for the team's 9 goals, including a pair of tallies from midfielder Bill McGlone and attackman Xander Ritz. Midfielder Ryan Cranston had the game's only two-point marker, which brought the Dragons within two with 1:26 left in the third quarter, the closest they would get to their southern rivals.
