i picked this up with my non dominate hand at the store and it felt like it was made out of aluminum foil, i havent used it so i dont know anything about its durability but if it is durable u should get it cuz it felt like 2 oz. liter than any other shaft ive ever held. A sc21 air is a good shaft that is nice lite and durable as well.

This shaft is amazing I've had it for two years and it has served me well.

i would personally go wonderboy, its sickk. not quite as light though, but much better value. i wouldnt get a torque or a deuce, they arent very good... if your gonna go stx i would do a proton power. i avoid gait heads... warrior blade 2.0 is pretty sick as well

Its exactly the same, except with different grip. They are both 803 alloys. I prefer the db803 to the ice because I like its grip better

This shaft is so sick it is the lightest thing... i love it the grip is really nice and the shape of the shaft makes it easy to grip. I haven't gotten to try it out and see if it is durable but i have already accidently smacked it into a metal beam pretty hard and not even a mark came up. AWESOME SHAFT HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Ive had this for 2 years now and it is amazing i can slam it on a post and it wont dent.

No shaft comes close. This shaft may not have the durability of titanium, but its weight is incredible. Combined with a light head, this shaft is great!

since ive been hearing that this shaft may not fit all heads, does anybody know if a nike dunk, gait recon, or proton power would fit?

Wow! This shaft is really really nice. I was expecting this thing to break easily but its holding up great and not to mention its extremly light. Prob the lightest i've used and I have used the python optra (one of the best shafts I have used), a k-pro diamond, a swizzbeat, a scandium swizzle, a deal breaker, and a ignite supra. Well what else can I say this shaft is really nice its light its durable (well for me at least). This shaft gets a 9.9/10 It would get a 10/10 but I just dont like how it looks like the label but you can rub it off. Well see ya guys if you have any questions just ask.

I actually like the newer version. It substitutes for more grip while maintaining lightness. It's not like the ice where it is obvious that there is an added grip, the new version finds the *"middle ground"*

The shaft is IMO the best quality shaft you can get for $80. It surpasses many other shafts in the $70-$120 range due to its lightness and durability. Personally, I consider it to be one of the flat out best shafts in lacrosse because I believe that a perfect shaft is not too heavy, but also not too light, and has good durability.

I had this shaft for 3 years and I loved it. It recently broke in a game after a really big hit but I was very happy with it overall. It is amazingly light and is awesome for wrap-around checks and all basic poke checks and such. I'm most likely going to get it again for my next three years.

i have the db803 nd is very light nd the wonderboy is heavier but its durable they both have ok grip its a hard choice go wit the wonderboy

This shaft is amazing. I just got one (the TOS version) to go with my gait thrust (rock-it pocket!) and it is a great combo. The db803 has an odd sort of concave grip and held in hand the texture feels a little like the diamond, not to mention it feels like you're holding a sheet of rolled up paper b/c its so light. Despite the weight tho, it is surprisingly durable. I have taken many a cross check with it from a warrior TI classic and it doesnt have any dents so far. BUY THISSSSSS

To sum it all up... -Great shaft overall. Excellent shaft for goalies. -Don't expect durability, because you sacrifice that with the weight reduction. Not to say that none of you out there have yet to break yours, as I have yet to break any of mine, but it is a well known occurrence. Just purchase several for your arsenal to prepare. -The shape of the shaft differentiates it from the "old school octagonal shape" that is typical of most shafts on the market. It's a trademark of Gait. -As I previously asserted, I wouldn't rely on its durability, so I wouldn't expect it to make a very good d-pole. Unless you are concerned more with the finesse and speed of your checks rather than the effectiveness/ devastation of them. -Grip is typical of an untreated alloy. Unless you purchase any of the various special edition db803s out there. -The shaft can be cut down and modified with ease. -All mainstream heads are compatible with this shaft (don't care what you say) Hope this helps...

All maverick stuff sucks. My friend got a wonderboy d-pole and it broke a week after he got it. I have had a db803 for three years and it is in great shape, my friend that had the wonderboy dropped a cement block on it and it didn't even dent. Get this shaft do not get the wonderboy.
