This mesh is ok it has great hold and I didnt find it hard to break in I just boiled and it turned soft but still had the hard coating on it. What I fond to be really annoying is how heavy it is I have a Rabil X and it feels like there a 2 pound weight on it from this mesh |

BEFORE STRINGING: Soak in water for 30 min. and then take it out and stretch it out. Rub hair conditioner onto it and get it into the fibers. Let it sit for 10 min. and shower the conditioner off. Soak in water again for 15 min.
AFTER STRINGING: Get a pencil and shove it in between the sidewall and the sidewall string wherever you want your pocket. dip the mesh into water for a minute. Get a ball and put it under the pencil, so the pencil pushes the ball into a pocket. Let it sit for a few hours, then get the mesh wet again and put the ball back in. Let it sit overnight, and you got yourself a pretty good pocket without playing yet. (The rest of the breaking in process will take place when you're actually playing.) |

 | - laxin panda 6/27/11 reply
before you string it roll the mesh up 3/4 of the way and stretch it out. and after that it it will barley take any breaking in. |

 | - charger20085563 4/24/11 reply
I bought some of this at a tournament, it'll take some hot water and a good hour session of wall ball to break in, but its amazing. Shot speed with this is wicked and depending how u string it can have a load of hold. U will need to redo all the sidewalls and top a couple times when it finally breaks in, don't cut ur string |

Do not buy. This mesh has zero hold on it, and takes forever to break in. The hold is so bad that if I were to bring the stick from my front to passing position, it will fly out. |

actually if you pour fabric softener on the mesh then go wall ball or play catch for about an hour or two the pocket and mesh will break in very nicely |

American Mesh i think is super....I have special MESH BUTTER i put on it and makes it into Marc Mesh...The stuff is insane.....By itself the American Mesh is twice as thick as 10D Hard and Its very durable....shot speed isnt the greatest but is ok and hold is superb!! |

rougher side is the side that you want the ball to be touching when done stringing.. its grippy for more hold |

 | - COLEinONE 3/10/09 reply
This is so much better than hard for any1 wondering...
even if this is harrrrrddd to break in, even the first day it's on you can get a sick sweets spot pocket. And if you want to know how to make a good pocket easy, push the ball in as far as you can and hold it for 30 sec so it will stay that was for like 10 sec. before it gets smaller stick a pencil under the sidewall on top of the ball and above the mesh if u know what i mean. |

What is the difference between this and american mesh? |
|
 | | - clutchattack3 2/04/09 reply
American mesh has no coating, and therefore is just extra thick soft mesh. |
|
|
 | | - clutchattack3 2/04/09 reply
Hard will break in easily, and is very light compared to canadian, but when your playing in wet weather you will have to worry about the pocket sagging to illegality, and it will eventually lose almost all of it's stiffness.
Canadian takes forever to break in, and is pretty heavy, but you won't have to worry about it ever changing in any type of weather, and it will not soften up nearly as much. |
|
|
 | - chiefslax00 11/03/08 reply
well then what is better hard mesh or canadian mesh?? |
|
 | | - clutchattack3 2/04/09 reply
If you make sure to stretch the crap out canadian mesh, and beat the crap out of the area you want the pocket to be then canadian mesh is.
It takes a long time get the pocket to be truly set. It may seem like it's set for a little while, but will go back to the way it was unless you properly beat the crap out of it and leave a ball that's a little bigger than legal in the pocket for like a week. You'll have to run it under hot water once a day, and after that if it still isn't set then keep at it, once it is truly set this mesh will not lose it's shape. |

its really all personal opinion, i have it on my stick and love it but many of the guys on my team oppose it. Id recommend but try it first so you know what you're getting |
|
 | - RLdefender19 9/19/08 reply
With this mesh if you want to get it as close to hard mesh as possible you need to 1, streach the hell ut of it or 2, put it in the washer machine on delicate, it wont make it the same as hard mesh otherwise that would be a complete waste but it will break the coating enough to hold up in rain and what not but not shrink on you after a few games like it has for some of you in th past, you need to MAKE SURE YOU STREACH THE MESH BEFORE PUTTING IT IN THE WASHER, THAT WAY IT WILL SAVE YOU A STEP WHEN STRINGING AND WILL REALLY GET ALL OF THE COATING LOOSENED UP. |
|
 | - HGPLax12 8/20/08 reply
got it for my xcalibur thinking okay gerat, i can dunk this thing underwater and like tape rock in it and the pocket will still remain immaculate. that didnt really happen. it made a nice pocket to begin with, but after several games, it like solidified into a shallower pocket and kinda shrunk from there. wouldnt really recommend, i like regular hard mesh better |

 | - Stevy16 8/12/08 reply

During the season when your playing everyday, if you put a ball in with a pen every night or use a pocket pounder after practive you can do it in a few days. If you just play with it it will take like 3 weeks. |

|
 | - Stix guru 5/04/08 reply
(this may be long and difficult just do it and it will make ur pocket awsome)
All u guys have to do to make the pocket bigger R these 3 steps
(1)run the mesh (with it already strung) under hot water
(2)bound a ball in it to desired depth
(3) put a pocket stretcher (leaning to front)in it with a ball in the back (but u guy wont under stand step3) so just get 4 wooden pencilesand 2 balls put 1 ball under under ur last string and 2 penciles on the ball to hold ball in Then put the other ball at back and dosame thing with the penciles and let air dry
For better pocket in between step 1and 2 get "vo5" strawberry and cream conditioner and rub in mesh

if u run a ball up and down the mesh, by hand, once it strung it softens this and hard mesh up fairly quick |

|
 | - schachner 2/20/08 reply
does that little bit of extra hardness really do anything... it cant be much of an advantage over regular hard mesh |
|
 | | - clutchattack3 3/04/08 reply
all mesh loses some of it's hardness over time, but this stuff stays harder longer, lasts longer because of the thickness, and most importantly is hardly affected by wet weather. But good luck changing pocket location once it has been set. |
|
 | - laxstar9599 2/13/08 reply
I was wondering if half of you guys even own sticks. First off this mesh is redicalously hard. It makes for a faster shot. Now if you know how to string a head right then you wont complain about your pocket because the way you do your sidewall is about 80% of your pocket. You might have to tighten up your sidewalls after playing for a while but thats about it. go to e-lacrosse and learn how to string, or just mess around and play with it for a few hours, then youll be stringing pearls for your whole team.
