Basically you can spend $40 on a sub par piece that your kid will most likely be out of in less than a season ... or you can get him something that will last many seasons and can easily be upgraded with a high tech shaft along the way.
If you want junior to have have a chance to advance quickly, why mess around with buying junk?? Just look at the stick that the coaches kid uses.. and you will know why starting them with a $40 stick puts them at a total disadvantage.

- We took a real head, actually a best selling STX Proton Power, and had our gurus string it up here at Lax.com. Then we put it on a shaft that won't break the bank.
The difference here is that if you really want your kid to pick this sport up and get better, he will need a stick that is better than any manufacturer would sell you as a starter set combo.
The biggest mistake and setbacks we see with newer players is the quality of what they are trying to learn with.
