Sidewall is the type of string that most mesh kits come with. cross lace is what you use to string between the leathers of a traditional stick. sidewall is thicker and will probably last longer

cross lace is for shooting nylons and top strings. sidewall lace is for sidewall. i hate cross lace though because cross lace is really fat string and gets hard to put it through any of the stringing holes. but sidewall lace works perfectly fine when used as top string

really 25 bucks for sidewall spool.... where has lacrosse equipment gone its so high in prices! when my dad played at cuse he could get 3 heads for the price of one head we have today... one head cost 20 bucks and a whole stick cost 50.. now a whole stick 250-300 bucks, ridicoulous! anyone who is with me please reply to this message!!

Hello I am currently a student at Lehigh University and former lacrosse player. As part of my honors program we had to create a invention which we would engineer and market over the course of our semester. My groups idea was simple, an engineered tube to reconnect sidewall strings, it would come in a kit with pieces of sidewall string as well so that if a sidewall breaks a quick fix can be done in game so that a player can keep using his main stick. We are looking for feedback from lacrosse players and fans on this topic and I would greatly appreciate any criticism or thoughts about the invention. Two questions I would like to ask: a) How often does your sidewall string break? b) If this product were available would you use it in a game over switching sticks Thank you in advance for any responses

this would be awesome because i have been in games and my sidewall breaks and it's such a pain to switch sticks. so go for it

I'm a high school student in New Jersey. My only concern is that the, "Tube," will not be flexible. If the string breaks in or near a hole, the tube will not be as flexible. So the tube will break. To answer your question, I would prefer to use brand new string, but say in a game like you say, I would use it. You would need to sell the tube for a reasonable amount of money. Good luck on your invention.

Great idea for me because my sidewall or top string rips about every 2-3 weeks. it's a pain to restring it. and In practice or games its the worst.

I replace my side walls with this every month of lax season. its good for them to stay fresh. i wouldny use ur thing cuz i already string my own sticks and i dont neeed that

I wouldn't use the invention i would just switch to my back up in all honesty and it usually breaks once a season towards the end when playoffs start

I am pretty much the go to kid for stringing and dying on my team. if you want lace you can use for the sidewalls,topwall,and bottom go with crosslace.

If I buy this, and cut the string, how will i string more sticks if the string doesnt have the plastic on the end to go thru the holes in the head? the string would just fray and wont go thru the holes.

as soon as you cut the srting, burn it for 3 or 4 secons and it will get hard and no longer fray

A custom pocket is kind of like an unusual pocket that u have either had done or made urself. An example of a custom pocket would be if u cut off part of the mesh and made a strip down the middle with a bunnch of stuff that you've come up with urself

you can string A LOT more than two heads. it takes me about 100" to 120" to string one head completely. This is 3600" of string. you should be able to string 30 heads. F.Y.I, i'm talking about mesh heads. for traditional its more like 13 to 18 feet needed per head; depending on the number of diamonds or if you're stringing a custom pocket.

sidewalls hold on he mesh while crosslace is woven throughout the head on a traditional lacing. crosslace tends to be thinner but more durable

If i wanted more than one color, buying 4 or 5 spools would be rediculous. I could technically just buy white and then dye the string differnt colors as i needed them right? Does anyone know if the string will hold the dye and not bleedout everywhere?

leather boot laces where u can buy practicaly anywhere work really good, more durable, and can be cheaper to start off and in the long run due to durability

if you have never strung a lacrosse head don't get this. You obviously don't know much about string so buy urself a stringing kit and make it easier till you get good at stringing.

stx stringing kits have a softer i guess more "noodle" like feel. warrior and brine are stiffer

i like to string custom pockets and was wondering if i should get sidewall or crosslace. Because i only want to spend 20 bucks so im going 1 or the other.

If you use the string as top string melt the nots on the back one at a time and take a butter knife or something very flat and press against the freshly melted knot. This will slow the process of tearing and fraying caused by scooping.

about 20" to be a generous but i still cut about 24" so that a little hangs off and to be safe

well, stringing a stick takes skill, you cant just buy sidewall and expect to string a stick. you use the sidewall on both top and the side. honestly, i would make sure you are confident in stringing sticks before buting this item
