LAX.COM PRO-INSIGHT
The Optic lacrosse head is gonna be a big breakthrough for Maverik this year. These guys finally engineered an advanced technology head designed specifically for high caliber offensive players. The story here is all about the technology. We went up to their new lab (they are now owned by Bauer) and these geeks basically over-engineered this thing so that it is the lightest and stiffest head on the market.

What does that mean to you?? One thing .. shot power !! This head simply rips. The pinched design is very similar to some other manufacturer's heads (we wont say which ones... hahaha) but the bottom line is that the Optik is a serious candidate for the best release of the 2015 season. Maverik nailed this one !!

Great head.... But - 5/18/15 reply

I got the optik in, strung it up and loved it at first sight. The offset of the head to the scoop of the head. I fell in love with the performance. Sadly the sidewall holes cracked after one season. The same sidewall hole on the same side. I didnt know if the head was just defected or that it was from normal play.

OPTIK head - 2/12/15 reply

After watching Jordan Wolf quickly explode onto the MLL scene with the OPTIK head, I had grab one for myself. Used it all summer and fall. And now with weather in the single digits up here in Rochester this head is battling through the cold without any problems. Great work by the Maverik team.
Great for O - 2/12/15 reply

Bought this head Spring of 2014. Got a lot of hours with it; HS season, summer club team, and a few tournaments this past fall. I haven't had any issues with it; no cracks, no warping. Strung a nice mid pocket which gave it a perfect balance of hold and release. Highly recommend this head to any offensive minded players.

Heads crack in the cold when hit. Lost two in one game. Team lost a bunch of them in scrimmage. Not recommending.

This or a CEO for right wing attack?
dragonfly x30 - 8/27/14 reply

will this head fit with the dragonfly gen 4 x30 please tell me. Thanks and lax on
lakota u/ stallion u - 7/31/14 reply

id look at the stallion or Lakota u for a very stiff head with more of a pinch
Stiffness - 7/24/14 reply

Is this head stiff enough to be used for Close-D? I'm looking for a more pinched head for better ball control but still almost has the same amount of stiffness as the Hammer or the Revo 3x.
(no subject) - 7/31/14 reply

look into the lakota u or stallion u. ive strung a few Lakota u's and theyre similar in stiffness to a cyber x not quite as stiff as a revo 3 or hammer but the stallion u might be that stiff. check them out
