The difference between this liner and the others, is the length and protection for the chest and stomach. The sternum plate is rock solid and the stomach padding is extended to the belly button. This is a great pad for defensemen who will be standing in front of shots and want the added protection while affording the mobility of a liner.

I would recommend pads if u r just starting, so if you want to play another position you could play it, but these might be good for attack instead of just mid and d if u don't care about arm protection or u get long arm pads.

THese are the best liner i have had. They are a good price too. Just cut off the two shoulder cap things and you'd be good to go.
