Why do most of the college and pro goalies use white heads, white mesh, white shooting strings, white side walls and white top lace...What's with all the white!!! What's wrong with a little customization!!!
I've had the same trusty ol' Eclipse for 12 years now, and it has taken a straight up BEATING from me over the years, but it's still in as great a shape as it was the day I bought it.
Back when the Nemesis came out I started using it because I liked the way it handled, and I almost switched over to the Warrior bandwagon, but the Nemesis only lasted 2.5 years before it shattered in the upper right hand corner - it was just too stiff.
I learned my lesson, and I'll never buy another head ever again, and I won't need to because this stick is flat out indestructible - it bends but never breaks.
i've had an eclipse for about 2 seasons. its a great head, but mine started to warp and bend. i decided to go with a nemesis. i have to say, its a great head, and much stronger than i remember my eclipse being when i first got it
ok so im thinking about playing golie and i havent played a whle season of golie before but ive played 3 years of middie and im looking for a hood head & shaft any suggestions?????? thx
i am geting it tomarrow and im wickey exited. did you know that the stx eclipse is used by the usa gaolie and many other pro gaolies. i hope i like it.
CAN SOME PLEASE TELL ME WHAT THE BALL STOP DOES THANK YOU
i play attack and im on varsity. im having trouble catching with my head now so would this help me since its bigger. dont think im a scrub i score like 4 goals a game.
you play attack and you want a goalie head... you either think people can read your sarcasm, your really dumb, or your serious and you actually cant catch and you play agaisnt scrubs so you get 4 goals a game
or I think it is absolutely hilarious what type of comments these little kids put on here or people who absolutely suck and think they know about lacrosse so i pst something like this and watch what people say. 90% of the time people have serious replies. So yes...its a joke. good for you buddy
I now have 4 of these and I think they are the greatest for the price. They are cheap, light, and I haven't broken one yet. They come in the best colors and have the perfect holes for stringing. I use these heads on an ice and a gnar and I love it.
most goalies use actual goalie shafts, which are 40 inches vs 30 for a normal attack shaft. however, if you prefer a shorter one, go for it. as for the shaft, the wonderboy is fine, but i've found that the gait ice goes great with this head.
hope i helped.
this is a great head, even though these look heavy, dont get the voidlyte, its very weak and will break, best with extended sidewalls and hard 9 diamond mesh
Does the Warrior Platinum 9 fit on this head if it doesnt can somebody tell me other good shafts that goes well with the eclipse. Im getting flourescent green mesh with black shooters and probably black sidewalls.
I'm getting the eclipse for my daughter but don't know the differences between the soft mesh vs the hard mesh with the extended sidewalls? difference between 12d and the others?
Im not sure if girls goalie sticks can have monster mesh.. But if they can.. I would get monster mesh because im a junior in highschool and i have monster mesh and i give up little to no rebounds cause of the size of the pocket
I am a 14 year old freshman at my highschool. I start on my jv team which is usually just freshman and sophmores. But in other seasons I play for my age group and up with Juniors and seniors. I this head better than the void lyte. I have had my eclipse head for a little more than a year and is still in great condition, and really like it should I just get another eclipse or a void lyte?
im pretty much in the same position as you man. i have had my eclipse for about a year now and its still perfectly fine, but i have some money burning a hole in my pocket.
ive had a white one for a while and it worked well then i switched to my black one and ive been using it for a few weeks and its holding up pretty well... no signs of wear and tear... i think that a head is most brittle and likely to break a) when its cold b) when its brand new c) both
any head will snap in cold weather.. and any new head is extremely brittle
so i had the white head for a couple years and i loved it....then my gf got me the carolina one for xmas and it broke 2 days later. she shipped it back and they sent her a new head. the new head broke in the same spot as before. so i dont think im gonna get anymore colored heads
i just ordered a new peice of mesh and some new shooting strings, im planing on doing a double v just because its more accurate but it does decrease range
i've used tons of different goalie heads. ive been playing for almost 7 years now, and i play at Limestone College. I've used this, the warrior nemesis, the warrior abyss, the brine money, the brine eraser, and the stx goalmaster. in order from crappiest to best, here they are. 6- stx goalmaster
5- brine money
4- warrior abyss
3-brine eraser
2- warrior nemesis
1- stx eclipse.
definitely get the eclipse if you can. the goalmaster is weird and awkward to use, the money breaks really easily, the abyss just sucks, the eraser breaks easily and gets flimsy after a few practices, the nemesis is great. good durability, nice stopping area. but the eclipse is by far the best. awesome stopping area, good scoop, easily strung with many styles, etc.
Ok, I have this on a STX Axe. I have many of my teammates telling me to get different mesh. I don't know if this matters, but I like to keep the pocket more towards the bottom, and I would like for it to throw up, a little. lol Now here is the question, what do I get? I saw ten or twelve, but why? Thanks.
i want at goalie stick but i dont know if im gonna play goalie for my team which goalie head should i get i want for it to be really cheap. And can you just use a regular old shaft for a goalie head?
If you have the money go with this. And you can play with an attack shaft it doesn't matter but most people like goalie length ones or they cut them so they are inbetween people like longer ones so they know where they are in the cage (people who play top crease)
get it strung with 18 diamond(standard) i have this and it has an amazing pocket and absolutely no whip. make sure its hard mesh. i prefer the kryptolyte but the platinum alloy will work
depends on what you are looking for the eclipse is very light and a great head but you will have to get a new after a season or two because it starts to get very flimsy the nemisis is a little heavy but will last you a while and also a great head.
