they arent flexible and get in the way.............i would go with k18s or cell liners if u need flexibility for face offs....definetly not these

i love this shoulder pads to be honest and they are light and protective, but mine have ripped in 2 places. both shoulder pads them selves, things on your shoulders, ripped from the main chest plate. i can so you a picture if youd like

I had these for about two weeks, i was playing a game and got HIT not rocked or anything like that and where the shoulder cap meets the front they broke. I would not buy these pads, they look sweet and are light but i would recommend something like cell liners that dont break.

you usually never get checked there, and if you do most people have enough muscle/fat to take a hit there

dude i got cross checked on the top of my arm right where there is no fat/muscle in two straight games in a tourny and it swelled and eventually pulled and bicep and i had taken off the top part of my shoulder pads

They just come off so you don't have to cut them off. I have this and they are out standing! I have been hit with a ball, checked, and everything and to be honestly can't feel a thing. Also they have ridges inside of the pads that catch on to your clothes and keep the pads from moving. also cleaning these pads are a breeze, just hit the pads with waters and get a rag and dry them.

i hav taken mine off but im a defensmen and face off guy sometimes i wish i wore the if they bother u but u want the protection dont velcroe em just slip ur arm in and let em hang but in the end its whatever floats ur boat

deffinantly cell liner or regular sp you cant even feel em and they give good prtection where you need it cant go wrong with the cell

Yeah man I've never noticed the pads during a game, I guess if you just put them on for a second and focus on the way they touch your body I can see how that would be uncomfortable but even with really bad sunburn I didn't even feel them during our last practice.

These are by far the sickest pads in the game. Lightweight, durable, and the don't smell like hell after a season.

It's not loose at all just tighten them up and they're very form fitting

I would take off the arms on these, because u get so much more mobility, but u will probably get many bruises... I just counted 8 bruises on my arm from last practice

g22's are dont have as much protection, but they provide more movability and they are also twice as light, yet still providing good protection, the 9k's are good too, but they are a little bulkier...

not to mention the weight difference

i got the g22s. they are insanely light, and provide protectction in the most needed areas, and awesome when it comes to shooting. theyre so comfortable i could sleep with them on.

I keep hearing complaints of bulk and cracking from the others, worst ive heard bout these are the nubbies rub you a lil bit, but you get used to that.

personally I love these... it also depends who you are, but to give you an example, I'm 5' 7" and 130 and play high school and I love them they allow you to take a hard shot, and yet still provide a protection in vital areas

I cant decide between the g22 or the cells. I like the idea of the no smell and not absorbing water for the g22 but i want a bad with good sternum protection because i bruised my sternum and it kills even if i take a light check.

they have great sternum protection the gray parts on the front are tough plastic so your protected, i suggest taking the arm pads of these off it gives it 10x more mobility

have you used or even worn these. they may be a lil' stiff at first but that goes out quickly, when you get a good swing yeah you feel a lil' pressure but you dont feel anything, and they're freaken light

i think there good a kid on my team that is the best d-pole got em and he took off the arm part wich i think is a waste of money so if u will keep it whole this is a good choice

I got these pads a year ago because I was sold on the "won't absorb water, no stink" stuff STX was saying about them and didn't want to stink up my dorm room. It is true they don't stink or take up water but since they've been out there have been some newer pads that have come along and are better. If you don't want any smell then look at farrell sports shoulder pads. They are machine washable and easy to clean and offer a lot more protection. If you just want light, unrestrictive pads then get Maverik Speed II's and save $100

great pads... no sweat, no stink comfortable light breathable yet provides good protection would not recommend if you dont wanna get bruises, but hey... you shouldnt be playing lacrosse if you dont expect to get hurt

these are a little thin in the padding but they still offer great protection and are very light wait.

they are really durable but make sure you get the right size. if they dont fit right then it limits mobility

i [had] a pair of these and loved them. thought they were the best things ever. then i went to the hopkins camp and they ripped out at the shoulder pad. luckily pietramella (sp?) and his staff are great guys and let me borrow some of their stuff. they were under warranty so stx is replacing them. just try not to dive onto your shoulders fellas

I play D (skinny but tall, 6'1, 155lbs) and currently I am rocking STX Choppers, I kinda like then, but I do not like how the shoulder cups like extend down to my armpit, so I was looking at a pair like the Shogun Liners, but I am not exactly sure. So do you have a recommendation for a pair of D shoulder pads that provide some shoulder protection (i run it up alot so i get some abuse on my shoulders) but give extreme mobility?

I play middie and i like to get physical when i dodge and these pads are very comfortable but surprisingly protective. If you are an attackman that goes through 4 people to score and love the bull dodge this may not be for you. Good stuff from STX

when you try them on or look at them they don't look like they offer much protection, but they really do because of the material. the padding is thin but they cover your entire outer shoulder (the most important place for protection because of the shoulder joint) they absorb checks very well and are incredibly lightweight. i can barely feel them on when i'm playing. i'm about 6'1 185 attackman and large fits me perfectly, but the buckle straps allow you to tighten or loosen depending on your body size. i've only had them for a little while so i don't wanna jinx myself, but they have been great so far.

well, first off, im 6'1,about 160/70, i play d. what size?? also, do the shoulders on this rise up and interfere with your helmet and all that? other than that they seem solid. HELP

when i got them they were really light, but when you lift your arm past your shoulder the top part digs into your neck. the material it is made of isn't that fexible.
