yeah it is very good. but i would prefer the xcalibur if u have the money. It is still an amazing head though.

I recently was given a lacrosse head by an old friend. It says "proton" on the throat and after that there is a circle with a cross through it. I was wondering if this was the proton or the proton +. Additionally, i also own the av8 and I was wondering if there were any differences between these two heads.

theyre both the same thing. the difference between this and the av8 is the sidewalls. the placement for the holes is different along with the design of the sidewall itself

yeah you can fit any head on any shaft, it just that you may have to force it on and drill a new hole for the screw

you cant fit any head on a crankshaft or a TOS shaft

This is more of a defensive head, go with the Evo.

I have the Proton+ and The Bionic Iws wondering which one is the best for a attack player. I have a gait splatter and stx vandium

between the proton+ and the bionic, I would say you should use the bionic. the bionic is more pinched and so you have more control and won't have the ball checked out as easily. but if you're looking to buy a new head, I would recommend the proton power or the brine clutch.

it is not so stiff compared to others. I hear that a torque is AAMAZING for lsm, and thats cheap. The pinch isn't too bad either, take a look at it and you will be surprised about the good reviews.

my friend missed a ground ball and tried to rake it back to him. he hit the head against the ground and both sidewalls snapped completely. my other friend has it and its warped to the point where it cant really be used. somthing to keep in mind.

i have had mine for 2 years without a crack or anything. its a great head for d it is a little heavy though

not so great. its pretty heavy and not too pinched. i pinched it but i still didnt like it im a middie and it was just too heavy for me

this thing is great i would recomend puting a se7en,wonder boy, or db803 because they head is kinda heavy

its really not too bad. not my favoite tho, not much hold. dont microwave it though (30 seconds at most if you have 2) just tie it up.

dont microvave it, boil it just make sure it dosnt stick to the pot

this stick is head is great its durability is amazing far better then most heads. i put it on my crappie brine 6000 d pole ( witch cost 30 dollars). get the unstrung one and have a buddy custom string it for you because they made mine really shallow...

i got this as a full defence stick its really for defence sense the pocket is good to intercept passes.

well... If your a serios face off man then I'd get a more pinched head, it shouldn't be too expensive because it will get warped from lots of face off's, that'll make it akward for other things like scooping. Keep in mind they are going to change the rules in 2010 so all heads half to be about as wide as a proton. So in the long term I'd get this or an okay pinched head... or bolth

this head sucks for defense. it bends, it doesnt snap, it just bends like 90 degrees. i would not recommend this head at all, especially cuz it costs so much, get a revo pro for defense, its the best d head ive ever had

the revo pro is the worst head tht u can buy and if u think thts a good head than u must suck at lacrosse

u put it in ur oven 4 like 45 seconds to 1 minute and then it get bendy then u pinch it

this head has the same pinch as the av8 which is like $25. this is $75. y waste 50 dollars for a different sidewall

if you think this is like the av8 then you know nothing about anything

because the sidewall helps to make this stiffer, and it has 4 bottom holes, and a better offset.

I have heard that STX plans to discontinue this head. Why? This head is great. I question STXs reasoning on why they discontinued the X2,the greatest head of all time that is still used by college players. Please dont make another great head dissapear. This is my favorite head. I use it right now for my game stick and have been for a long time.

I've got both the new Excal and the proton plus. There isnt that much of a difference but so far, I think that the proton is a little bit more durable and is stiffer. It also has a type of gradual pinch to it. I like them a lot. Both are great heads so you wont really go wrong with either of them.

cyber pro is a great LSM head its not too pinched for GBs and snaggin passes and its eatreamly stiff, really sturdy

I use the Proton Power and I have to be honest... my game has increased dramatically. I was pulling off crazy catches behind my back and everything. also your shots are very precise. I could go on and on about the P2.

great head. i am a defender and use this on a krypto pro. this has a wide head making it perfect for d and it is easy to scoop ground balls. i recommend hard mesh over 6 diamond or soft. very sturdy and durable.

If you're a LSM, A close D, or a D Middy with a short stick, this head in my opinion is one of the best, if not the best out there. Very easy ground balls, the wide head is all the better for intercepting passes, and if you have some stick control before this head, then you'll do fine keeping the ball in your stick. BUT: Make sure it's strung properly by someone you know, don't use the prestrung heads. They'll make the head much worse. So, find a person who's reliable with stringing, tell them how you like to throw it, and have them push illegal with the pocket size. It'll do great. 10/10.

they break alot, maybe its the way i check but i broke 2 in a couple games, waste of money but the head is nice

Best head for D i have ever had!! great for checks and ground balls. a wide head to go up and intercept a pass. Great pocket if strung properly. i reccomend this head for all defenders out there that are looking for a new head. its worth the $$$$

This is a great wide head. Classic D head. If you want it pinched, you're better off just getting the Proton Power which is made pinched. You won't get the normal results you get from other heads because the proton is stiffer and harder to break compared to the other heads. Most college and pro d poles use this head. If you're a long pole middie who has never been an actual d pole before, you're probab;y better of getting a head that is a more pinched in than this, because you won't be used to the fact that the ball can easily be lost if you don't know how to use this head.

the cross piece cracks after 2 slap checks. get more flexible head for D-poles

If you are an old fashion d-player like me and like wide d-heads like the classic X2 and the legendary brine edge get this head it is very strong and reliable. Oh, and it goes great with the Sc + Ti premiere made by STX that is what I’m rock’in.

Which do you think would be better for attack this or the Xcalibur, i know these 2 are both better for Defense, but my friend got an Xcalibur and it seemed pretty good shotting wise. So which is better , and i was wondering if you could pinch these at all?

if you want to pinch a head similiar to this and much cheaper get an AV8 by stx its the cheapest head out there but it is the same thing as this unless u pinch it etc

the xcalibur is built to be stiffer with the trestled sidewalls, and yes you can pinch either, but if you want this head pinched just get the proton power. it's this head but not as stiff and pinched better than you could possibly pinch this head in any tradional way.

proton is generally a defense head but i dont see why not. it'll be fine as long as you dont mind a head with virtually no pinch

This is my favorite head and usaully i switch sticks often looking for a great one and this is it. It is awesome. I have one with 10 diamond and one with 6. The one with 6 diamond is my game stick and it is awesome. If you can find a old stx axe to go along with it.

this and the E3 are radically different heads so it depends what you play and what you are looking for in a head. the proton is significantly stiffer then the E3. this allows you to deliver harder pope checks. there is also the question of ball control the E3 is aggressively pinched which makes it an excellent head for an attack man that likes to drive to the net or a d man that like to make long runs up the field. the proton is more geared toward a defensive midi or a d man that likes a wider head for intercepting passes. the proton is definitely the petter choice if you spend a lot of time at the face off ex. the E3 is to pinched for the job. the ball often gets stuck which results in costly technical turnovers. If you are really into face offs though there are some much better choices.

yo this is the best defense head. Its stiff for nasty poke checks and isnt to pinched. it also has a great scoop. trust me bra, get this
