A very well rounded defensive head, the Proton U is recommended for the defenseman at all levels of play. The head is priced so that intermediate or advancing defenseman can afford to add a wide body, high pocket head to their arsenal. We love how this head allows for rough, worry free checks and great durability. A great buy for a player that wants a head that will do anything they could ask. You also will not find a better value when pairing the Proton U with our ProStrung option.

This head? - 6/25/14 reply

Is this a good faceoff head?

Is this head good for offense?
Bad first experience - 5/25/14 reply

Bought this after my Mohawk Mission. After one poke check in a game, this head bent out of shape and I had to keep bending it back into shape for the remainder. Awful first impression and as a result, I'm returning this and getting a Hammer
Proton U - 4/11/14 reply

This head is amazing for for anyone that plays defense and wants a head just as good as the Revo3 or the Hammer U at half the price. I have had one for about a year and a half on my D-pole and is still doing well.
Disagree - 5/20/14 reply

you get what you pay for i had this head for 3/4 of a season and it broke if you play varsity level dpole do not get this head spend the extra money and get a good head like the revo 3x or the hammer u do not get this head at all
(no subject) - 9/29/13 reply

Side note the head doesnt have the curves on the scoop use the colared heads for an accurate description
Best D head for the low - 8/20/13 reply

This is an awesome D head. I had this one pro strung and its lasted me 2 seasons and some change. If your thinking about a Getting this for defense I highly recommend it. It's strong, not to heavy, throws great. I do not recommend for lsm because of the wide face. Go with the swarm x. It's not expensive and it works wonders on both sides of the field.
(no subject) - 8/18/13 reply

PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD..get this head.. I had the hammer.. it was good at first but once you start throwing hard checks it gets warped..plus this head is good looking..the hammer is ungly PROTON U>HAMMER U
Trusted Head - 7/26/13 reply

This is by far the only head I will use on my poles now. The first one I used finally gave out and flimsy after playing out in the snow in Canada, and that was after a full year of abuse. Also does amazing in the heat keeping stiff for pokes.
(no subject) - 7/03/13 reply

Does anybody want this head. if u do there will be one day next week on ebay thats strung with 3 shooters 2 stait and 1 u great for d
Proton U vs. Hammer - 6/10/13 reply

This or the Hammer? Please take price into account as well.
Proton - 6/23/13 reply

The proton can be used at EVERY POSITION. It is really stiff and strong so faceoffs maybe challenging but other than that I think one of the best heads out there.
(no subject) - 8/05/13 reply

The Hammer is one of the worst heads I ever bought! I bought it for 130 too. The Proton U was only 50 and was the best head I have ever bought I am going to purchase another Proton U
lsm? - 5/22/13 reply

Is this a good lam head?
Lsm and attack - 6/23/13 reply

I used this stick at attack before I switched to goalie. I played middy with it and it was great. If u long pole I would get something in the Brine F__ (#) if I was doing lsm.
(no subject) - 10/17/12 reply

This is awesome for defense but not for faceoffs, I would suggest the stallion if you want a defensive head and do faceoffs. But if that's too much then just go with a torque since they are so much cheaper and just as good
(no subject) - 10/11/12 reply

Probally gonna get this head because i check sticks alot and i do faceoff's will it stay stiff ?
(no subject) - 10/08/12 reply

I play middie im a big defensive player is this a good head for defensive but i also do faceoffs so is it good for faceoffs too ?
(no subject) - 8/23/12 reply

I've had this for two years and I just strung up some one elses proton U and mine is still just as stiff as the brand new one. I love this thing. I have an x10 and honestly I think this is, for the money, the head I would buy. I like the shape of the x10 but this is and stays a lot stiffer. And you're saving 20 or 30 dollars. Not saying the x10 sucks, but this is VERY good. The edge is cool, too much money. Oh and the best thing about this is the scoop. It sounds wierd but its angled perfectly for a pole. you barely have to bend over. the only thing it lacks is pinch
(no subject) - 8/14/12 reply

great head. can be pinched easy which makes it so much better.its a little heavy but its a good head for d.
ehh - 7/25/12 reply

it summer so i figured i would try it. its easily the strongest head on the merket but also the heaviest. but is a god head, i use monster mesh but regular mesh should be the same.
Proton U - 7/19/12 reply

I love mine! great price
PROTON U - 7/03/12 reply

solid head. super stiff and wide so it's easy for pass and catch. I recommend this head for a d pole that wants to throw some hard checks.
(no subject) - 11/08/12 reply

nah bro i recomend this for goalies
proton U vs. revo pro - 6/25/12 reply

right now i have a revo pro 2.0. I love it but after a year it isnt stiff nymore. will this thing stay stiff? if not ill stick with the revo because i know that evn tho it aint stiff it wont warp at all.
Solid head. - 6/24/12 reply

Honestly the best D head ever!!! Proton U is stiff and wide, but a bit of a pinch, just perfect for long pole. Love it.
good dpole head - 6/10/12 reply

i need a good dpole head for a 13 year old who likes to hit hard is this stiff i have the mojo x i cant decide between the STX Bionic or STX Proton u?
(no subject) - 6/26/12 reply

i would say this bc the bionic is a begginners head. this may be more expensive but it is at a higher quality
by like 10 dollars - 7/22/12 reply

how flexible is this??? - 6/10/12 reply

i want a good defense head for a 13 year guy but my dad thinks its really flexible... i need a better d head right noe i have a mojo x
(no subject) - 6/25/12 reply

i know the X10, edge, and this are all super stiff, but i havent had any of them. My friend says the edge doesnt stay stiff for some people. the revo is pretty stiff but doesnt stay stiff
Help - 6/07/12 reply

is this a good head for short stick middie
krypto middie advice - 7/16/13 reply

no if you buy this head put it on a defence shaft
Which ones better? - 6/05/12 reply

This or the xcal?
(no subject) - 7/22/12 reply

this
Stiff like no other - 5/30/12 reply

My friend has this head and it is so stiff it's almost scary great for defense.
This and? - 5/16/12 reply

Hey i'm new to lacrosse and I'm going to play d. I want to get this head, and what shaft do u recommend with it?
(no subject) - 5/18/12 reply

get the steel 7000
Playing D - 5/21/12 reply

I recommend the X caliber head though a bit more expensive its my favorite head. I have run several middie backs with it and its very tough!
(no subject) - 5/26/12 reply

if you do have an extra 100, get an f22, very durable, not alot of grip but still very light, i had this for an entire season, no dents at all, ready for some summer lax with it
(no subject) - 6/06/12 reply

Okay if your a beginner the best deep pole is the vanadium. It is a little big heavy but you get used to it. Iv had it for 2 seasons now and there is not one dent in it or crack. It's a very heavy duty stick and hurts like hell if you get hit with it.
(no subject) - 6/20/12 reply

This and krypto pro
(no subject) - 7/22/12 reply

h2 but you basically just want lite and durable no stx sabre
(no subject) - 5/10/12 reply

is this easy to pinch??
(no subject) - 5/09/12 reply

This or swarm x... Is this good for face offs or defense
Amazing Head For Defence!!!! - 4/25/12 reply

If you play d and your looking for a head under $70 get the protonU. For LSM it is ok you might want a little more pinched head in my opinion. Bottom line Amazing head!!!!!!

# 44 for Johns Hopkins uses this head also the some players of UNC use this head for defense I would not get this ead for any other postion but D
(no subject) - 2/17/12 reply

Ive got this on one of my poles and I also have an x10 and I gotta say I like this a little better than the x10. its stiff, easy to string and I like the wieght of it. It's on a pole what do I need a light head for? also it scoops really well
same with me - 7/22/12 reply

the x10 will lose its stiffness proton stays stiff
D? - 2/02/12 reply

This or Proton U? I play LSM and D and i want something with more pinch than the x10.
Edit - 2/02/12 reply

This or the BlueprintX?
m80 - 5/05/12 reply

d - 1/28/12 reply

this head is ok. it is kinda heavy and it is kinda stiff for like half a season and then starts to bend. but for the price it is good. also what i did was when itr started to bend just change heads for a little and and then put it back on and it was a little better.
(no subject) - 1/08/12 reply

can i make my own coclors on the stringing?
(no subject) - 12/28/11 reply

Is this good for middie
(no subject) - 12/31/11 reply

no not at all. its a close defensive head

(no subject) - 11/23/11 reply

never mind got it and strung it... throws like a dream.
(no subject) - 11/05/11 reply

is this one easy to string?
Great Head - 10/11/11 reply

Great head for D, sooooo stiff. My poke checks make all of the wimpy attack drop the ball. A little heavy on my swizzle but still great for gbs and catching/throwing. Dont pick this if u run up alot and try to dodge, its too wide for that.
edge or this - 10/09/11 reply

please respond for edge or proton you for d
(no subject) - 10/10/11 reply

i would personally vouch for the proton u, ive never used or seen a blueprint before, looks pretty nice though, i dont like the edge though, its kinda overated, the u is pretty decent, and its cheaper than the blueprint. idk its up to you, i play both lsm and full d, and it gets me through, it warped a wee bit though this summer cuz ive been playing non stop since june
(no subject) - 11/08/12 reply

are u like really irish because who vsays a wee bit
Blueprint or Proton u - 10/08/11 reply

should i get this or the blueprint for closed and lsm?
(no subject) - 10/15/11 reply

go with this, it is wider than the blueprint which makes catching so much easier, especially with a dpole and its one of the stiffest d heads out there
(no subject) - 8/31/11 reply

i got this head like six months ago and i love it, if u play defense u should definitly get it, but the only thing is u hav to string it right, especially with six dimond, and also all my shooting with it has it warped to the left a wee bit, but its a good head, and it really has stepped up my playing ability n' stuff, and all my coaches noticed, so... :-)
(no subject) - 7/21/11 reply

is this a good head to get, cause it is between this and the edge
(no subject) - 8/09/11 reply

I'd say they're about equal. I prefer the Proton U, but after and really sunny the Edge might be a little tiny bit stiffer. Not much of a difference in stiffness though.
(no subject) - 7/20/11 reply

whats better for Defense proton u of evo 2.0
(no subject) - 7/21/11 reply

they r about equal
(no subject) - 7/23/11 reply

Not at all. The Proton U is much better.
(no subject) - 10/11/11 reply

i agree with bellefontelax, this is up there for the best D heads and it is cheap. evo is not for D... ANY EVO! i hate it when peopel try to use evos for D, i want to deck my own team sometimes
(no subject) - 7/06/11 reply

decent head for d
(no subject) - 7/03/11 reply

one of the stiffest heads on the market but a little too wide for my liking
get this. - 6/24/11 reply

this head may seem to be runoff...but no. get this head its good. i know some really dirty kids who use this and they love it. this head is actually legit believe it or not
(no subject) - 6/27/11 reply

yea i know a 2 time all american who uses it
(no subject) - 11/08/12 reply

A 3 TIME ALL AMERICAN!!!!!!!!!!!!! I DONT CARE
Which to get - 6/18/11 reply

I can't decide which head to get for defense: proton u, x10 or xcalibur, or is there anything better for 75 or under
(no subject) - 6/26/11 reply

I have both of those heads. personally, i like the proton u way more than the x10. before this head, my starting head was the x10, and it cracked on both sides where the plastic is molded together. the proton u is really stiff, but there are not that many stringing holes compared to the x10. your choice, but i would goo with the proton u.
(no subject) - 7/21/11 reply

the edge is one of the best d heads and its is around $50 i think but if it is out of those choices i would say excaliber only the x10 is not that good and i have never used the proton u
help - 6/16/11 reply

i play defense im between this xcalibur x10 and clutch
(no subject) - 6/17/11 reply

x10 dude. i use it. the other two starting guys on my team used the clutch. but overall the x10 is probablly better. if u want more pinch use the xcalibur
EWWWW - 6/12/11 reply

THIS HEAD SUCKS
(no subject) - 6/12/11 reply

i love this head
ok - 5/30/11 reply

i had this for a year and it got warped and i cant bend it back but it also broke right at the top..
Wilts in the Sun - 5/29/11 reply

I have this as my gamer for LSM. First poke check and it folded over and I've been trying to flex it back to original. Poor showing.
does this have enough flex - 5/17/11 reply

to face off
(no subject) - 5/20/11 reply

This is one of the stiffest heads out there, so no.

Questions - 5/15/11 reply

I'm a mid/att and i take face off. i am going to high school next year and I'm going to play lax there. I'm replacing my old stick, and my parents don't want me blowing too much $$$. it looks good, and its a proton, but the ratings aren't great, any thoughts? also, I'm looking at a kryptolyte shaft. just looking for advice.

im looking at the deuce, proton/ super power, CLUTCH, or cobra x
also - 5/15/11 reply

(no subject) - 5/16/11 reply

Get the proton power or super power the are good for face offs.
cobra x - 5/17/11 reply

my friend has a cobra x with 5 shooters 3 v's 2 straights and bottom is 12 holes in and out works great and is super light put it on a debair 803 ice it's beast
(no subject) - 5/25/11 reply

the duece suks, it shouldnt be in tht list
(no subject) - 5/23/11 reply

you should get the blueprint head it like $65 and maybe the wonderboy shaft
(no subject) - 5/25/11 reply

this is a defensive head which is why it rated not so well, wen using this for defense, this is a very good head, but otherwise, its not so good
(no subject) - 5/10/11 reply

is this head good with six diamond? im not sure if i should get six diamond cuz im a d pole midi
how??? - 5/05/11 reply

the pinch gets widder
looks awesome - 5/03/11 reply

i'm d-pole and this looks awesome. any other suggestions for a d-pole?
(no subject) - 5/04/11 reply

if you want a wide head this an edge, and the x10 are prob your best bets...

revo x and revo 2 r both pretty good too and alot less heavy

x10 is awesome
Fit?????? - 4/28/11 reply

Will this fit the maverik gravity.
Fi - 4/28/11 reply

Will this fit the maverik gravity????
Fit? - 4/23/11 reply

Will this fit on the Warrior Krypto Pro Diamond 10 shaft?
VS super power - 4/23/11 reply

How wide is this head compared to the super power? I need a backup and 90 for the super power is too much to spend twice.
(no subject) - 4/29/11 reply

this head iis good for defense, but its way to heavy for attack or middi, u should get a evo or revo if u want something good and kinda cheap
SUPER WIDE - 5/04/11 reply

This head is soooooooo wide. Actually a decent head, my friend has it and if strung correctly still has good hold but the thing is at least 100X wider than the superpower. If you want a good back up I'd suggest the Gait Torque, there are some people that hate it and some that love it, but its light, pinched, cheap and really accurate.
(no subject) - 4/16/11 reply

Will this fit the brine swizzbeat9 or the brine swizzle scandium
this head for D midi's? - 4/14/11 reply

ive heard of people using this head on d poles how good is it? can u put six dimond on d poles? ive never seen it
(no subject) - 4/15/11 reply

Six diamond is actually most popular on poles. It has a lot of hold, but a much slower release. Out of the larger diamonds, I would choose 8d. It's a perfect in between for 10d and 6d.
(no subject) - 3/30/11 reply

im a midi, should i get the proton power or super power? i keep geting mixed reviews and its mad annoying
Both are great - 4/07/11 reply

The proton power and super power are essentially the same head except the super power is a bit wider. If you are playing high school rules not NCAA go with the proton power. It is and has been the best head for years for midis and attackman. Great pinch, easy to string, and its durable. You can face with it too. The super power is a great head as well just with less pinch. You cant go wrong with either it all depends on how much pinch you are looking for.
attack? - 3/28/11 reply

This or the Mojo X for a back up head for an attackmen?
(no subject) - 3/23/11 reply

This head is really heavy. Although it comes at a great price it lacks stringing holes and does not have a great scoop. If you are looking for a d head, then go for a brine blue print or an x10
DO NOT BUY THIS CRAP!! SO BAD! - 3/19/11 reply

STRINGING IS HORRIBLE, IMPOSSIBLE TO MAKE A GOOD POCKET IN IT. VERY TOP HEAVY! AND SAY GOODBYE TO ALL BALL CONTROL!
(no subject) - 3/25/11 reply

Ball control is all about stringing, and I've seen people who can string this amazingly. You are probably a novice stringer, and don't know to make a channel. If your a real defensemen, top heavy doesn't mean anything. Don't write in all caps, it makes you looks like an idiot.
(no subject) - 3/25/11 reply

I agree
(no subject) - 4/02/11 reply

Damn, how you feelin now Jawa_Lax? Lmao.
Your bad bro - 3/27/11 reply

yah impossible for you to string this, you string like you tie your shoe. I could make a sick pocket on the cheapest stick, i could make it throw better than your start stick or should i say bench stick?
?????? - 3/12/11 reply

Is this any good as a d head?
(no subject) - 2/18/11 reply

Sorry For the double post. But I need a new d head because I have an stx hype (not that many will know what that is). But the head is kinda offset to one side because of checkx and stuff. Is this a good alternative to the Edge and Excaliber or X10? It's cheaper than the others which is what makes me consider buying it. Please respond.
(no subject) - 3/25/11 reply

Go for it, this thing is as durable as a tank and is as stiff as a board.
d head - 2/18/11 reply

this head - 2/05/11 reply

is sooooooo STIFFFF!!!!!1!!11!
(no subject) - 2/22/11 reply

wait a couple monts it gets bout as strong as helix
Definately a defensive head - 1/03/11 reply

this is pretty wide, about as wide as the x10. so its for d but its super easy to string and makes a good pocket and has a really good feel. Its stiff enough to play aggressive d. Only thing i don't like about it is it's a little heavy but not a big deal at all and super cheap. I'd say its just as good as x10 but cheaper
(no subject) - 2/09/11 reply

i use it for d it's custom strung from here the best head i've ever seen yes it's for d use it
