i got this head custom strung with ruby mesh with a high pocket and three straight shooters it throws like a f*%$#ing dream |
 | - MiniLaxer98 5/29/12 reply
is this thing as durable as the proton u and is it as stiff |
 | | - TheZackGarland 4/27/13 reply
x10 - muchhh stiffer
the problem with that head is that the best pocket for it is a low one which, at least for me, isn't my kind of pocket placement. |

if you're on d, i'd get the maverik h2. i have that and it is super strong, but not that light. |

i have a maverik wonderboy, i have it and its great but not very light. My teammate has a warrior diamond and its very light not sure about durability though |

BS X10 is better. this is the best D head. why do you think this is illegal in NCAA and the X10 is legal in NCAA. |

I am looking for a stiff head that won't warp or bend when I pick up gbs, and this sounds and looks like a good head. I play some lsm though and I'm wondering if this is good for a little bit of offensive play |
 | - CrimsonLax14 8/04/11 reply
Awesome d head, durable, great for ground balls and very accurate |

I can't decide which head to get for defense: proton u, x10 or xcalibur, or is there anything better for 75 or under |
 | - toteslax 6/15/11 reply
im getting a new D pole and im not sure if i should go with this or the surgeon. i play some lsm so i like to be able to carry the ball and play some offense. any suggestions? |
 | | - shapplejax 6/17/11 reply
i have tried out both for crease d. though its more expensive, the surgeon is less flexable then the xcalibur. i suggest the Surgeon U, (wider) for doing quick on the run ground balls and batting down crappy passes. xcallibur for faceoffs, actually face-off lsm head would be the Maverick juice.
surgeon, juice, then evo, then xcal, |

this is a great head, i play d and it works great |
 | | - laxbr0 6/11/11 reply
this or x 10 they are almost exactly the same except x10 is ncaa legal and high school legal and the xcaliber is only high school legal |
 | - MNlaxrox 5/22/11 reply
I got this head from a d-pole at the beginning of the season and i pinched it myself( i play aggressive middie, i dodge a lot and take face-offs)and to sum up this head in one word, amazing! It throws like a dream and every ground ball is almost a guarantee for me i go thru stick checks and i keep the ball every time. So if any aggressive middie or even an attack want a good stiff head and know how to pinch it correctly get this for sure!!! |

This is one of the best defensive heads ever. You can scoop balls with ease, and throw some really hard poke checks. Its also one of the lightest defensive heads I've ever held. The price is also amazing GREAT. 1000000000 stars |

 | | - NateSennett83 4/17/11 reply
I play D and the MIL thunder can pretty much cut people literally the sidewalls are literally sharp. its stiff and you can do some damage on pokes. if you wanna inflict pain and scare the living **** out of any attack men then get it. go to the website and order one seriously. i murder dudes with it no joke. not to mention i have trad on it so it catches like a dream and has such good hold. but i recommend a high pocket with any kind of stinging and the scoop will be phenomenal. the website is mowhawkintlacrosse(dot) com. check it out if you wanna own any attack. |
 | | | | - NateSennett83 4/27/11 reply
check them out on their website and call them or email them for prices. trust me its worth it |

Ok i have had both of these heads and their is no comparison. This head is not as stiff and warps really easily. I have used the x10 for about 1 year now and it is still very stiff. This head just cant compare to an updated version of it. It might have been good when it came out.. but no i would go with the x10 no doubt. |

been using the xcalibur for a year now. i might be looking for a new head. should i get a brine edge, x10 or just stick with my xcalibur??? |
 | | - hhs51 11/19/10 reply
This has more colors and the only difference is that the X10 is supposed to be 10% stronger and NCAA legal |
 | - andrew romano 10/31/10 reply
this head is amazing for ground balls and poke checks. i would also recomend a x10 or a proton u.
 | - dbelt11 10/25/10 reply
this head is nothing special. I own it. I broke one after about a month and got it replaced under warranty, but the head bends a lot, and warps. It throws alright long passes are accurate-shots are as well. The advantage of this over the X10 is nothing, because the pinch is practically the same while the X10 is much stiffer and durable. recomend X10, Gospel, or Clutch 1 or 2. |
 | - The Last Laxbender 10/12/10 reply
I have this head and it sucks. Ground balls are horrible and for me, this head is very flimsy. Nothing special about this. I recommend getting a Revo, X10, or cyber pro. |

My parents said i should get the best defensive head and best shaft for my freshman year. im no small guy and i throw hard checks. I currently have a 3 year old kryptolyte with an edge. what head/stick should i get?
i have been trying to decide between X10, Xcaliber, Proton Power, ans the Gospel |
 | | - hhs51 11/19/10 reply
Get either a krypto of some kind or a gait ice with either the X10 or Xcalibur |
 | - gstech 7/28/10 reply
i have used both this head and the x10. i like the x10 more because after a while the xcaliber becomes flexible and loses its stiffness whereas the x10 stays stiff. |

i have this head strung with traditional works great for catching and passing had it on my dpole but would i would say lot better on a shorty |

depends on you're position and preference, I personally do not like the pinch, but what do you think about six diamond mesh |
 | - GiveBloodPlayLAX 7/06/10 reply
i bought this head thinking that it was going to be super stiff and amazing for defense. this head is wide which makes it great for intercepting passes, groundballs, and makes catching an ease. the stiffness of the head was incredible when i first bought it and i was hoping that it would last. last week was my first summer lax camp and the first time i got to use my new xcalibur. after playing in the head this head gets VERY FLEXIBLE more so than even a proton power. and once it bends it stays that way until you push it back in place. if you are playing in cold enviroments i reccomend you get this head. if you are planning on using it when its hot think twice. the flexibily can be good at times such as facing off but bad at others when trying to grab gbs or poke check (4/5) |

Not trying to be a smart ass, wondering if this is any good for a short stick middie, does some faceoffs, not looking for suggestions just yes or no and why or why not |
 | | - laxstar325 7/03/10 reply
no. its wider and stiff for defense. for faceoffs you want something pinched that can flex a little bit. |
 | | - GiveBloodPlayLAX 7/06/10 reply
this head may be stiff but it can get very flexible, it is wide which makes it easy for ground balls and clamping, great def, lsm, and fogo head |

excalibur for sure. its a good D head and durible. just cracked my gopel after half a season of high school defence. may want to check out the X10 too. |

It is kind of stupid that this will be illegal next year it is my friends looks wide enough but I guess not |
 | - seidle 5/09/10 reply
first of all this head is deffinatley stiff enough for d
second of all if u get 6 diamond mesh when it comes to hold u should b fine |
 | | - SouthLAX45 5/14/10 reply
i dnt see why u would compare those two heads one is meant for D the other is more of a Middie and Attack head. This head is good for D because of the bridge design on the sidewalls gives it so much durability and the side walls are kind of sticking out so stick checks hert alot more |
 | - swezlaxbra 5/04/10 reply
I've had this thing for like 3 weeks, a couple games and todays game i was checking people really hard and at half time I looked at my stick and it was warped. Then I tried bending it left and right and it seemed like it would be an amazing face off head, except it sucks at holding the ball... Zero hold. |
 | - Delmo 4/25/10 reply
the X10 head is the same idea, legal for 2010 and stiff as hell. the X10 is a combination of the Revo and Xcalibur for the best defensive head in lacrosse. |

this head is absolutely amazing, i play longpole middie and this head gets the job done better then any head i've ever used. if you want to get a cheaper head, that performs well i would suggest the STX Bionic, probably one of the most DURABLE heads i own. but when it comes to the Xcal, its a must buy for d poles |
