As fair as i know ribs are the only bone that gets weaker when you break it. A kid on my team broke 2, then next year broke them again (now wears rib pads). you have to wear them for the box winter league but i got my for 20 70 thats just crazy...

Basically if you already have a pair of rib pads that don't restrict your movement, then wear them. The do protect you liver and kidney's and if you ever take a shot to the ribs or kidney's you'll be glad you wore them. If you don't already have a pair, don't worry about getting some. A good pair that wont restrict your movement is going to be very expensive and the chances of getting hit hard enough in the ribs for there to be a problem is slim to none. I've been playing 4 years and have yet to be hit hard in the ribs.

during a swim move you leave your ribs completely open and one quick pop could break a rib and cause serious trouble. and many guys arnt fast enough to even to a swim move properly so they dont work. i am a devence men and when someone does a swim i look to punish them in the ribs, and many others do to, so word for the wise dont do it. and you wont need rib pads.

i got these under armour pds that i absolutely love. they are basically under armour with squishy like pads on the bribs, shoulder blades and collar bone. they are light and at 50$ way worth it

if ur gona wear rip pads then get a small mobile pair of football rib pads. i used to wear an old pair of schutt rib pads in 6th grade. they are made for football and they were ez to move in so i used em for lax. but lacrosse rib pads all suck so don't spend money on them, really you should just not wear rib pads all together

I get hit the most and still can play fine.Also it is much harder to get hit hard if you are running like in a clear. The fast middies r hard to hit.So grow a pair and drink milk!
