my mesh ripped 2 decent sized holes (big enough for the ball to fall through both) just after preseason, and and 5 weeks. it was with hard mesh, so maybe the 12 diamond might be better im gonna try stx mesh and see how well that goes

DO NOT GET STX MESH!!! it will bag out big time in the rain and you'll never be able to throw with it..any other mesh should be ok if you strech it out before stringing it. but stx sucks.

soft won't do anything for you except create major, unnecessary, whip and in rain your stick will be useless and illegal cause the mesh will stretch so much. hard will keep the shape of the pocket so much better and it will work in all types of weather, you just have to take the time to form the pocket and get the mesh to loosen up a bit (DON'T use conditioner or something to loosen the hard mesh, it'll basically turn the mesh soft and it'll be useless. just take the time to form your pocket)

Wether you use hard or soft mesh is all a matter of preference. With hard mesh it is more difficult for an opponent to knock the ball out when your on offense, but it is also MUCH harder to string (especially Six Diamond). Soft mesh puts a lot of whip on the ball, which can really help if you're trying to incapacitate the other goalie. (Yes, it works!) But Soft Mesh also stretches in the rain and will become illegal after only catching the ball once if it's soaked; coupled with the fact that most people play with their sticks on border-line legality, this head will become illegal quickly in the rain. It's all your choice.

there is no rule on how deep a goalies head can be. it cant be illegal

it can be too wide. or put 3 balls in the pocket on top of one another. if you can see the top of the third ball then it's illegal..or just put 12 balls in the pocket and if you can see the top of them then it is also illegal. an official checked my stick at halftime because i was the last coming off the field and they have to check sticks..it was legal but not by much..he asked me to tighten it.

shaving cream works wonders...it keeps the mesh nice and firm but helps break it in..be sure you stretch your mesh as well though..roll it up and run it under really hot water (as hot as you can get it out of the sink) then stretch it apart..apply shaving cream and let it sit for a minute or two. then do the water and stretch again before you string. perfection.

like i know this really noobest but which (hard or soft) is better. Because i have hard on all my stick and i have never strung soft mesh but still a lot of college goalie have soft liek grant zimmerman, dan loftus and

ok so i got this string kit and i was told my stick is illegal.. i am an attackmen looking for help.. i can hold like 15 balls in my pocket

if i am not mistaken this is goalie mesh which would explain the ability to hold 15 balls.

you can get the powell pocket, just make sure that it doesn't say 'goalie' at the top.

ok the top of the ball cant be below the bottom sidewall. if u can hold 15 in ur pocket n ur not a goalie, u need 2 leard the rules

there is no head this is something called mesh its the strings that go on the head

Where do you see a head all I see is mesh.

this head has asome handleing. it also gives u a feeling that an attack would have with the short shaft.

i dont even play goalie and u need to spell goalie right before you try to pretend to play lax. there is clearly no head here.
