midwest lacrosse

As a member of an Illinois lacrosse team, I take personal offense to comments about east coast vs. midwest lacrosse. Okay, so we all know that the prep schools and Long Island lacrosse is where the talent is, wrong.....it is all about the programs. Lacrosse is known as an offseason conditioning sport for football in Illinois, it is the opposite out east. I have been to the premier camps in the east, and the difference between good players in Illinois and good players in Maryland or New York is minimal. The fact is that you can teach a person stick skills, but speed and agility are god given. In the midwest there are a ton of athletes (in my opinion superior to those in the east), just the year round commitment level to lacrosse isn't there. Just keep your eye out for midwest lacrosse players because I know I have something to prove, and I am working every day to get that chance to prove it.
