| | although there were no real surprises in the seedings this year, navy got the short end of the stick. the tourney has always been designed to allow the best 12 teams to play each other for the national championship. this new automatic bid shit is great (if you win your league), but it doesn't measure the skill level of your team. point being, notre dame and hobart can't hang with D1 schools. i'm not saying that they will never be a "national championship team," but this year, they are not among the top 12, the elite of D1. therefore, a team of lesser caliber has stolen a spot from navy. along with the rules this year, navy should not get in (because of the automatic bids, and no real big win), but in reality of the best 12 schools, navy should have had the 10th seed. |
