State Powers?...

From a historical standpoint, a similar concern was raised 20 years ago.

North Carolina rose to prominence in the early eighties, surpassing Cornell and Hopkins for lax supremacy. When the Tar Heels went 26-0 during the '81 and '82 seasons, everyone said the Ivies would wither and the big state schools would dominate the sport. Then came Princeton in the 90s.

It is the growth of women's teams that has been a significant factor in the elimination of men's baseball and wrestling. This issue alone has kept many schools from moving ahead with men's lacrosse.
