D3 and D2 Playoff Brackets | Quota by FE21 (#1248) on 5/04/08 @9:00PM | | | | Is there a quota in the D3 Tournament for teams from Ohio? I like what Denison has done this year and I think they get the AQ anyway, but how do OWU and Kenyon get in? I'm sure I'm just not familiar with how the teams are picked and I'm guessing they have to take a certain amount of "West" teams, but to take both of them and leave a team like Villa Julie home seems crazy. This never works out great for the better Southern teams, they always have Salisbury to contend with but they even paired up WAC and Lynchburg against each other in their first game. That's the two teams tied for #4 in the country and they have to play each other for a chance to advance. | | | | | Reply to this |

 | Will Gettysburg Finally Get It Done This Year? by Naptown Fan (#136419) on 5/05/08 @12:57AM | | | | Without a doubt, Gettysburg is the best program in DIII History who has yet to win a National Title. So, in some peoples' eyes, the Bullets and Coach Hank Janczyk are the sentimental favorites. Is this the year they finally get it done? | | | | | Reply to this |

 | Stevens by Ian Peter Freelee (#188060) on 5/05/08 @5:35PM | | | | Stevens Tech has to be kicking them self’s… I mean they had any easy roll into the NCAA. The could of played a tough outside of conference schedule, but stayed in the Skyline/Knickerbocker conference, and made the NCAA year after year.

 | Break it down D2 vs D3 by headylax303 (#197213) on 5/07/08 @10:54PM | | | | D2 has LeMoyne, Bryant, NYIT, and Limestone.
I think it is safe to say that those four teams could beat the following teams in the D3 tournament:
Springfield, Kean, Bowdoin, Mount Ida, Williams, St. Lawrence, Western Ct., OWU, Kenyon, Cabrini, Haverford, Denison, Widener, WNEC.
That leaves Cortland, Middlebury, Salisbury, Washington, Lynchburg, Gettysburg and Ithaca... a 6 team field. Should D2 add another four and have gross teams in like D3? If you can honestly tell me that teams like Mount Ida have a shot at winning D3 you have got to be kidding me.
Of those remaining 6, I think only Salisbury would beat LeMoyne. Cortland would top the other three. Washington, Lynchburg, Gettysburg would be decent matchups with Bryant and Limestone. Middlebury and Ithaca would hold their own.
Salisbury over Cortland.
LeMoyne over NYIT. | | | | | Reply to this |

 | an abosolute joke by meyerbc9 (#45) on 5/09/08 @9:02AM | | | | what an absolute joke that lynchburg college is not hosting their first round playoff game. they won their conference, they have one less loss than washington college, and they are tied in the most recent polls. this is a team that has consistently earned a place in the NCAA playoffs over the last several years under the guidance of a great coach and hard working student athletes... that is not to say washington college and its own storied history is not worthy, but this seems to me to be a bit of favoritism for the "lax belt" teams. washington college had a great year, but they fell short when they had a chance to clinch a home field game while LC supported their case with a great run of victories which should have warranted them home field advantage in the opening round of this years tourney. bah. all that being said, they will stay focused as they have all season and come out on top. BZZZZT! | | | | | Reply to this |
