Lynchburg Hires Jeffries and Hemming
press release September 19, 2001

LYNCHBURG, VA - The Lynchburg College men's lacrosse team recently announced the hiring of two new graduate assistant coaches for the 2001-2002 season.

Jason Jeffries, a two-time all-Old Dominion Athletic Conference performer for the Hornets and a 2001 graduate, returns to the team as a graduate assistant coach. He served as team captain his junior and senior seasons and was selected to play in the North-South Senior All-Star Game. He will work specifically with the offense and extra-man units.

Brian Hemming, a 1997 graduate of Gettysburg College and a four-year letterwinner, also joins the men's lax staff as the defensive coordinator. This spring, he was the defensive coordinator for Episcopal High School in Alexandria, VA - the top-ranked Interstate Athletic Conference team. Hemming also served as an assistant coach at Hampden-Sydney College for the 1999 campaign, and has also worked as the lacrosse camp director for Advantage Lacrosse in Fairfax, VA and a program director for Camp Tecumseh in Center Harbor, NH.

Lynchburg finished the season 8-6 - its third-straight winning campaign. The Hornets placed third in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference with a 4-2 league record.
