HS Game of the Week: NY State Semis-Niskayuna vs. Garden City





Garden City defeated Niskayuna 5-4 in the New York Class B semifinal at Hofstra on Thursday.

The Trojans advanced to play in the Class B Final, where they fell to Jamesville-Dewitt on Saturday, 11-5.

is it just me or does Niskayuna's goalie have his pocket punched the opposite way of most other goalies. it looks like his stick i backwards

its just a normal stick he just pounded it in the opposite way because it probably helps with stopping the ball in the mesh

hmmmm.... ive never heard of that it probably works though. but still id just make a deeper pocket or give the stick more give when you catch the ball

... for Cornell does the same thing. It could just be natural habit too but I think it has to do with keeping the ball in his pocket.

its a highlight video, its going to make the goalies look bad. the score was 5-4 so they obviously did pretty well overall.

highlight videos make goalies look good too if theyre making good saves theyll put them in the highlight video and just cause the score was low doesnt mean good goalie play, you could just have great defense
