Why this is a good dodge

You’re using a double dodge, which should free you up for a feed or a shot. You break down your man and the other teams defense to one side, by using the split dodge from up top. Then off the split, you drive hard to one side, looking to feed or shoot, which will also force the defense to over play you to that one side/hand. Once you have them over playing you to one side/hand, you roll and recover into a shooting or feeding position. Also, you should have screen set up off the defender sliding to you; or a man open from the defender sliding to you.

A lot of college middies make a living off this dodge. I think there was a player at Hop a few years back who would split from up top, drive hard low, then roll out into a jump shot…I think he was # 18?

trying this dodge from attack doesn't hurt either. i don't play midi, i'm an attackman, but i did this in my game last night. we play in a 2-3-1 and i'm on the wing. go one way, switch hands, roll back forcing the defender to open his hips, and once your hands are free just rip one. personally one of my favorite dodges.

would work on a man to man D

it would word on man to man. you would dodge past the guy then the fire (crease D) would charge out. If you roll the other direction then its like using that D guy that you just dodged as a pick then you score.
