Lax in Florida is picking up! Check out Highlights from this high school match-up between Stars Mills (GA) and Bolles School (FL) down in sunny Jacksonville, FL.
some solid lax, and good competition coming from Stars Mills right outside of Atlanta, GA
but at 1:45 you see examples of just classless people ruining the integrity of the game. Who knows what else they were doing. That kind of bravado and puffing is just an example of highly insacure pleayers trying to prove something.
I am tired of seeing that nonsense. There are many ways to prove how tough you are in this game, why degrade the game to that kind of stuff?
This is sports, things get heated..that is the way it goes. I'm sorry if you were bullied in highschool and were the one getting pushed around in sports, but come on, man up.
Also, these are two very average teams and I think Lax.com should focus more on the top 20 teams instead of trying to promote tier 2 teams such as these. I understand they are making an effort to show the spreading of lax, but it is obvious this widening of the game is happening, and they should really just focus on the people who will be playing d1 lacrosse in college instead of club at florida university
i would like to see these teams play teams like boys latin and gtwon prep..st anthonys ..delbarton..summit..garden city...loyala blakefield...i like that lax is growing in the south..but some of these teams just couldnt hang with the bigger better schools
I think there will be some more High School games to come this season. Lax.com has always been pretty good at keeping a wide spread on their coverage, and definitely agree. I'd like to see some GTown prep and other hot bed lax teams tear it up.
Lotta florida love tho, can't wait to see it progress
which is why I wrote the original comment. Anybody who has been around the game for a while knows that if kids are acting like that, then that is just the tip of the iceburg.
But of course you make a comment about respecting the game and your opponents and you will get a immature response about being bullied in high school or something stupid like that... and of course a guy who writes that will follow it up with something to the they are not playing "real" lacrosse.
dude chill. lax is really growin down south and that's a good thing. i know for right now NE is better than the south but who knows what will happen eventually.
oh and btw philly is better than NE
durning the pre game huddle is that blonde kid whos talking number 23 I was just wondering he's pretty good to be honest a couple kids on bolles could play d1.
haverford is overrated, and la salle and conestoga are your only other top 25 teams.
NE is better, prep lax alone is better, that doesn't even take into account the top 25 public schools.
And i think the semi sweet uni's are making these teams look way better than they are.
I just wanna put to rest some of the comments people have been posting. First, starrs mill is not a top tier team in GA they are a bottom tier and i have no idea how they got a crew to fill their game. They have a long way to go if they are starting fights on the field. They have gotten better since the last time I played them back in high school though and can continue to grow if they have an attitude adjustment. Second, GA teams like Lovett, milton, lassiter, and others are better examples of GA lacrosse. No top tier team would ever stoop that low to cause a stupid on field fight. These teams listed above have been sending kids D1 and will continue to for years to come. Ga lacrosse is getting bigger and bigger and in time will grow to the skill level of the NE.
First of all, Starr's Mill might not be a top tier program but we have made it to the state tournament 3 years in a row. The program is only 6 years old and I wouldn't consider us a bottom tier program either. I'm not sure if you were able to see all of the interview but I did mention the stronger schools in Georgia. We didn't ask to have the game filmed but it is only good for everybody to see the sport growing. Most of the comments above are negative and don't help the game in any way. Too bad that people are allowed to hide behind a screen name and make comments that hurt teenagers trying to play a game that they love. We know that we can't go up East and play with those schools, but we are trying to build a program and some memories for our players. We enjoyed playing the teams that hosted us in Florida and hope we can make it an annual event. Best of luck to everyone this season. SMHS Coach Mark Williamson
