Penn State vs Maryland | 2017 Lacrosse Highlights
In a lacrosse meeting with huge implications on the line, the top ranked Penn State Nittany Lions traveled to College Park, MD for a matchup against Big Ten lacrosse rival, the Maryland Terrapins. With not only the nations top spot on the line for Penn State but first place in the conference as well, the Nitttany Lions look to be the exception to the rules in 2017 that has seen each number one team lose over the latter half of the season after being named to number one. For Maryland, it was Senior Day in College Park where the Terps Matt Rambo and company were honored before the games first whistle. From the get go, Rambo wasted little getting the Terps out to an early leading, recording a hat trick less than seven minutes into play. The senior attack man would finish with a team high six points in the contest. The stellar play of the Terps continued throughout the game as the Nittany Lions could not keep pace with Maryland, eventually falling by a score of 15-11. Mac O ‘Keefe recorded a hat trick for the Nittany Lions while Grant Ament tallied four points. The game high six points from Rambo also moved him to fourth all-time in Maryland history, passing legend Frank Urso. Maryland will look to continue its winning streak when it heads to Albany for a rescheduled game against the Great Danes while Penn State will look to rebound from its first loss of the year when its stay on the road with a visit to Homewood Field and the Johns Hopkins Blue Jays. lax.com was on the scene in Maryland to catch all the action.
