The New Cascade LX Women's Lacrosse Helmet

Oct 21, 2016
U.S. Lacrosse and the National Federation of High Schools (NFHS) are updating the rules for women's lacrosse helmet and headgear use in girls' and women's lacrosse.  Effective January 1, 2017 any type of women's lacrosse helmet or headgear that female players wear must meet the new ASTM standard, F3137.  As of right now, the use of a helmet in girls' and women's lacrosse is optional.  However, last year, the Florida High School Athletic Association mandated the use of  helmets (which they call headgear) during all girls’ lacrosse games and practices, even though there was no nationally approved headgear at that time, according to the New York Times.  Florida athletes mostly wore the modified headbands occasionally used in soccer.  This means most, if not all, headgear for girls lacrosse that has been on the market for the last few years will not comply with these new standards. With Cascades proven protection the LX women's lacrosse headgear uses existing impact PORON XRD protection technology to dissipate impact energy while creating an extremely comfortable fit. The LX Steel Mask was engineered with open sight lines for clear vision and with an ergonomic shape in mind. Cascade designed the LX women's headgear to reduce injury from ball-to-head and stick-to-head contact with a tough outer shell that is still flexible and soft enough to keep unprotected players safe from contact with the headgear.   [caption id="attachment_19991" align="aligncenter" width="600"]Womens Lacrosse Helmets New Cascade LX Headgear[/caption] The Cascade LX women's lacrosse helmet can be ordered now, at LAX.com but will ship out in mid-November.
