The STX Surgeon 700 Lacrosse Head Review

May 1, 2017
The new STX Surgeon 700 lacrosse head reviews are out and this lacrosse head is the latest in the line of elite level offensive weapons from STX. These guys are simply dominating the big time collegiate and high school scene and the attention to detail here is similar to the best-selling STX Stallion 700 that was released earlier this year. STX surgeon-700-lacrosse-head-1 The first thing our stringing guru's noticed was the lower sidewall design. Like many of the specialty attack heads that are being released these days, this head begs for a low-mid pocket and is designed for those guys that want ultimate control while dodging one-handed. They also put string holes in one of the bottom side rails that allows you to set this up with a nasty mid-pocket that has a smaller sweet spot and steeper entry than traditional middie heads. Seven string holes on the scoop also allow the gurus of mesh to get creative as well as really dial that top string down tightly for the big shooters on the field. This channel lock feature keeps the top of the mesh in place and help for a natural channel right down the center line. STX also came out with a new stiffer plastic technology called Endura-Form. This is an improvement off their All Climate technology and means that this head is just as good for Fall ball as Summer ball. They also included a handle/shaft support that virtually eliminates ball rattle since the screw bites into the plastic once outside the head and then again from the inside of the shaft. STX also gave the Surgeon 700 a more pointed scoop which makes those offensive ground balls easier when you are on those big rides. STX surgeon-700-lacrosse-head-2 When our Lax.com Pro's got their hands on our prototypes they strung them up with a East Coast Dyes Vortex Semi-Soft custom pocket and a STX Memory Mesh custom pocket. The first reaction was that this head gave inside offensive players a deeper, lower pocket with quick release, but also allowed them to really let loose with accuracy from outside. This is a shooters head that is also set up for backing in and playing with power around the crease. The STX Surgeon 700 lacrosse head is an elite class offering that is already generating tremendous demand for the May 15th ship date.
