A little over a minute later Castellani followed up with one of his four goals, this time the assist going to junior attackman Matt Testa. After Air Force made a late hit on senior golie Russel Kushner, Wenk put his second in from a sweet feed from junior midfielder David Cohen. Airforce was able to answer back with an extra man goal with senior John Agnew driving from behind, unassisted. The remaining time on the quarter consisted of goals from Lehigh's Castellani, assisted by Osorio on man up, also Wenk solidifying his hat trick with :26 seconds left in the first, unassisted. At the end of one Lehigh had a 4 goal lead with the score 5-1. Air Force could not get things going in the first and even dropped the ball when they had a hand up -- there were numerous turnovers on extra man.
Lehigh struck quickly in the beginning of the second only 1:17 into the quarter as Castellani gave himself a hat trick early on in the game. The Falcons were able to add their second of the game from junior attackman Nate Koss, fed by Agnew, for the first of three assists. Lehigh would score their last goal of the half with 10:04 remaining as Wenk scores his fourth from Cohen. Air Force struck next with the same combination that we saw in the 2nd and I'm sure that you will be seeing in the future, Koss from Agnew. There was over five minutes of no scoring, which was unusual for this game, until Lehigh's Castellani broke the silence with a rip fed from Cohen. Finally, with :45 left in the third, Falcons' senior midfielder Dylan Quinn made the score 10-8 with Lehigh on top by two.
With plenty of life still left in the Falcons, Agnew brought them back within one goal with 11:55 left in the fourth. The fans began to wonder if this could be another meltdown for Lehigh as was yesterday's 4th quarter was when Denver came from behind to win. Lehigh had different thoughts though as they scored the next three goals, with the first two coming from Osorio and the third from junior attackman Anthony Lowe, pretty much puttng the nail in the coffin on Air Force. The Falcons were able to muster up one last goal with :33 seconds left in the game, but time had run out as Lehigh brought their record to 1-1 and Air Force 0-2.
