Jul 13, 2008 - John Christmas ignited Harvard stadium bringing 9,178 screaming fans to their feet with the game-winning goal in a thriller versus Long Island. The Cannons and Lizards were locked in a 12-12 dead heat with a tight five seconds left in regulation. Tom Zummo launched a Hail Mary 50 yard-plus pass that hovered in the halo of lights and seemed lost in the realm of the possible.

Jul 4, 2008 - Philadelphia reigned over Boston landing the first strike off an early, costly Cannons defensive error. The MLL Champions were in fine form on possession (especially off-ball) working the ball harder and faster neutralizing the potency of the Cannons’ tenacious defense. ‘The’ difference was between the pipes. Bud Light MVP Brian Dougherty roared with 28 saves on 41 shots. Roy Colsey led the Barrage with five points. Despite a third-quarter run, the Cannons fell short 16-14.

Hard hits, quick-recovery on defense and two no-swim goals from rookie Paul Rabil made for a one-two combo take of early game momentum giving the Cannons a heavy dose of swagger. Boston’s Kip Turner made out with 20 saves. Rabil led the offense with four goals and one assist.
