Last week, the Edmonton Rush announced that Paul Rabil had officially been traded to the Rochester Knighthawks.

The 2012 National Lacrosse League (NLL) champions acquired Rabil in exchange for their forward, Jarett Davis, a solid player who led the team through the postseason this year with nine assists.

It seems that Edmonton just can't catch a break. Just six months ago, Rabil had been traded from the Washington Stealth to the Rush in exchange for Athan Iannucci - another star player from the Philadelphia Wings - who had refused to play for Edmonton as part of a contract holdout. Yet, reportedly, Rabil wasn't feeling the Rush either and never reported to the team. There were rumors he had been looking for a trade to the east coast.

In spite of the two useless trades, Edmonton made it to the league finals, but in the end gave up the title to Rochester, followed by Rabil for Davis, who will hopefully want to play for them.

All in all, this is great news for the Knighthawks, who were already a strong, if not always consistent, team before the addition of the legendary Rabil, who has been on championship teams in both the NLL and MLL, and was named both Offensive Player of the Year and MVP for the MLL in 2009 and 2011.

Knighthawks Owner Curt Styres told NLL.com after the announcement, "He has the heart and passion that we're looking for."

Rabil is a transition player at his core and brings that much-needed skill to Rochester, and he's reliable if anything. The much-lauded athlete is sure to bring a lot to the reigning NLL World Champions in the 2013 season.
