LAX Pro Insights

FlexForce - Takes the warp out of your men's lacrosse head.

Product Details

Whether a lacrosse stick is being used in the backyard, practice or games, the head tends to bend and warp overtime, which causes the head to pinch at a specific spot. The “pinching” of the head can be even more evident while a player is battling for a face off or a ground ball. If you have every had the ball “Stuck in the Crosse” you know what we are talking about. "Stuck in the Crosse" is when the ball is stuck in the front, back, or held under the head of the stick solely due to a warped head. If a player cannot get the ball out of the lacrosse head in one motion, it is a whistle and the ball will end up going the other way. If the player who won the face off has the ball stuck in the backside of the stick, the player has one step to pop the ball out or it is a violation. Basically, if the ball is defying the laws of gravity, it is an illegal play in the game of lacrosse. The simple solution is to insert the FlexForce device into your stick, whenever you are not using it. Flexforce is made with a Polycarbonate and ABS mix which is extremely dimensionally stable and provides superior strength and heat resistance, along with great durability.

The desired distance of the area of the head that is continuously getting pinched, which is near the top of the “pocket” is 3.5” from inner wall to inner wall. Flexforce is designed to easily slide into the lacrosse head and widen the inner walls approximately 3.75” apart from each other. Flexforce is wider than the desired manufacture distance (3.5”) because as it is removed from the head, the plastic head tends to want to shrink back to its original pinched distance. After a lot of trial and error, we have found that the plastic wants to shrink back down about .20”, which is why Flexforce is about 20 thousands of an inch wider than the desired distance. The angles along the sides of Flexforce allow the product to gradually slide in, expand the walls of the head and eventually the 3.75” of the product makes contact with the pinched area of the head. The extruded “ribs” on the lower sides of Flexforce are designed to hold the product in place and prevent it from sliding out of the head.
