ITHACA, N.Y. – A strong second half was not enough Tuesday night as the Colgate women's lacrosse team fell to the nationally ranked No. 11 Cornell Big Red, 13-6, at Schoellkopf Field. Five different Raiders scored points and six picked up assists in the loss to the Big Red. Haley O'Hanlon (Garden City, New York) scored a pair of goals and tallied an assist for her fifth straight game with a goal and at least three points. She also filled up the stat sheet with three draw controls, two groundballs and one caused turnover. Lindsay West (Bedford Hills, New York) scored a goal for the fourth straight game for the Raiders while Natalie Washuta (Chatham, New Jersey), Isabel Kreitler (Fairfield, Connecticut) and Alissa Masini (Gillette, New Jersey) each scored a single goal for Colgate. Washuta got the scoring start Tuesday evening with her sixth goal of the season on a man-up opportunity after Cornell's Sarah Phillips was sent off with a yellow card. O'Hanlon tallied an assist on the goal. Colgate led 1-0 for the next 9:58 of the game until Cornell scored its first goal to tie the game and scored a total of five goals in 2:29 to claim a 5-1 lead. O'Hanlon netted her 14th goal of the season on a free position shot to cut the Big Red's lead to 5-2 with 12:10 to go in the first half, the closest the Raiders would get the rest of the way. The Big Red scored the next eight goals of the game, including two to close the first half and six straight to open up the second half. After Cornell took a 13-2 lead, Colgate scored the final four goals of the game to bring the game within seven. Kreitler scored her 14th goal of the season with 11:12 to go in the second half on an unassisted goal. The Raiders picked up three goals in the final 2:43 with Masini opening up the scoring in that stretch before West and O'Hanlon scored goals in the final minute of the half. Charlotte Redican (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) assisted O'Hanlon's goal with 16 seconds left in the game for her first career assist and fourth career point.
