Georgetown University's men's lacrosse team continued its winning ways with a 13-6 victory over visiting Marist on Tuesday afternoon. With the win, the No.18/16 Hoyas improve to 5-0 on the season. Jake Carraway (Annapolis, Md./St. Mary's) posted a career-high seven points (3G, 4A) to pace the Blue & Gray while Daniel Bucaro (East Setauket, N.Y./Ward Melville) added three goals and an assist. Bucaro's four-point outburst gave him 109 for his career and put him into the top-20 all-time in career points on the Hilltop. His 74 career goals lifted him to 15th all-time at GU as well. Robert Clark (Cooksville, Md./McDonogh School) tallied two goals and an assist, Craig Berge (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) added a goal and two assists while Matt Behrens (Bronxville, N.Y./Bronxville) had two goals. Zeke Morrill (Baltimore, Md./Gilman/Deerfield) and Peter Tagliaferri (Danville, Calif./San Ramon Valley) both notched lone goals and Kieran Jenkins (Millersville, Md./Severna Park) was credited with his first career assist as well. Georgetown's man-up unit was impressive, scoring on four of its six extra-man opportunities. Both of Behrens' goals were man up while Berge and Morrill added one each as well. Defensively, Gibson Smith (Pelham, N.Y./Pelham Memorial) and Greg Galligan (Oyster Bay Cove, N.Y./St. Anthony's) both earned three caused turnovers while Jenkins and Tagliaferri led the way with five ground balls each. In goal, Nick Marrocco (Duxbury, Mass./Duxbury) picked up his fifth victory of the year by allowing just three goals in less than 50 minutes of action while collecting five saves. Georgetown opened the scoring, netting a goal from Bucaro just 70 seconds into the game. Marist knotted things up at the 7:01 mark, but the Hoyas closed out the first frame with four-straight goals to take a 5-1 lead. In the second, it was more of the same as both teams traded early goals but the Blue & Gray outscored its guest 3-1 in the quarter to take an 8-2 halftime lead. Coming out the of the break, GU lit up the scoreboard with another 5-1 outburst and held the Red Foxes scoreless for more than 20 minutes spanning the second and third quarters. With a 13-3 lead in the final frame, Georgetown emptied the bench as every healthy player saw extended action in the period. Joel Tierney led Marist (1-6) with two goals and an assist while David Moyett added a pair. Brian Corrigan collected 10 saves in goal. Following Tuesday's game, the Hoyas remain in the Nation's Capital as they host Hobart on Saturday at noon.
