The Wagner men's lacrosse team closed the first half on a 4-0 run in building a 6-3 halftime lead before Dartmouth opened the second half with six straight goals to go on top 9-6, and held on for a 9-8 win on Saturday afternoon at Scully-Fahey Field. In suffering their second one-goal loss of the season, the Seahawks fall to 1-3 on the season while the Big Green improve to 2-2. Sophomore attackman Nic Ancona had three goals and one assist while junior attackman John Norton added a hat trick as well for the Seahawks. Finishing with three points on the day was senior midfielder Joe Lomeli (2g, 1a), while senior attackman Andrew Streilein added two (2a). Adding one point apiece were junior attackman Spencer Kaufman and freshman attackman Hank Ontiveros, as each had an assist on the afternoon. Ontiveros' biggest impact on the game came in the faceoff circle where he was sensational in winning 16-of-20 in the X, while adding a team-high six ground balls. Senior defenseman Tanner Dixon and sophomore defenseman Kyle Stofko paced Wagner with two caused turnovers. Junior goalie Matt Sefcik turned away nine shots and collected five ground balls. Ben Martin led Dartmouth with four foal while Richie Loftus added three goals and one assist. In goal, George Christopher came up with eight saves in recording the win.
