The Monmouth University men's lacrosse team dropped a non-conference matchup with Saint Joseph's, 11-5, on Saturday afternoon at Kessler Stadium. The visitors took control early and jumped out to a 7-3 halftime lead behind four first-half goals by Chris Blewitt. Blewitt scored as time expired in the first half and took the momentum into the locker room. Saint Joseph's completed a 5-0 run late in the third quarter to extend its lead to 10-3 in the eventual 11-5 victory. NOTES & QUOTES - Saint Joseph's leads the all-time series with Monmouth, 5-0. - Monmouth is 4-8 all-time against Northeast Conference opponents. - Monmouth fell to 2-2 all-time when wearing its white helmets with white jerseys and shorts. NUMBERS CRUNCH - Wasserman scored his ninth goal of the season, which is tied for the team lead with Hunter Jones and netted his 74th career goal. - Bryce Wasserman extended his team-best points streak to 21 games and his goals streak to seven games. - Dan Bloodgood scored twice to increase his season total to six and his career total to 45. - Dylan Schulte scored his seventh goal of the season and 36th of his career. Schulte has a point in every game this year. - Griffin Figel scored once and added one assist. The junior has a point in every game this season and a total of 11. - Chandler Vanderbeek tied his career high with two caused turnovers. - Zach Clemente made his first-career start in the midfield for Monmouth. - Noah Lode made 12 saves in goal for Monmouth, while Mike Adler totaled 13 for Saint Joseph's. - Saint Joseph's won 13 of the game's 19 faceoffs and held a 27-15 advantage in ground balls.
