Junior attackman Austin Lane (Aurora, Ont.) scored a career-high four goals and five points for the UMass Lowell Men's Lacrosse team in the 14-13 overtime loss at Siena on Saturday afternoon at Siena Turf Field. The River Hawks drop to 1-2 overall on the season with the loss, while Siena improves its record to 2-0 overall. Siena's Nick Casner tied the game with 50 seconds left and Tim Cousin scored his third goal of the day with 2:53 left in the extra session to give the Saints the victory. UMass Lowell held a 9-7 lead at halftime against the Saints, which included a hat trick from Lane and two goals from senior Sam Klingsporn (Aloha, Ore.) and senior attackman Jon Phillips (Delta, B.C.) Senior attackman Sean Tyrrell (Calgary, Alta.) also had a solid day with four points (1g,3a) and six shots on goal. Phillips finished the day with three points (2g,1a) and five shots. The River Hawks finished the game 2-for-2 in man up opportunities. Freshman Hunter Braun (Hartland, Mich.) made a school-record 21 saves in his first collegiate start for the River Hawks, which included eight saves in the second quarter. Anthony Tebbano stopped 12 shots in the victory for Siena. UMass Lowell returns to action for its home opener on Saturday, March 3rd vs. Monmouth. Game time from Cushing Field Complex is 1 p.m.
