FINAL SCORE Monmouth 17 (4-5, 2-1 MAAC) Siena 8 (2-6, 0-3 MAAC) LOUDONVILLE, NY – The Monmouth University men's lacrosse team rolled to a 17-8 victory over Siena on Saturday afternoon at Siena Turf Field. Senior Bryce Wasserman's four goals and three assists highlighted the Hawks' offensive output that included multi-goal performances by four different players. Wasserman's first goal put Monmouth ahead 4-0 five minutes into the game as the Hawks never trailed in the contest. The Saints trimmed the deficit to two goals (5-3) early in the second quarter, but it was all Monmouth from that point on as the Hawks scored the next 10 goals to push the lead to 15-3 at the start of the fourth quarter. NOTES & QUOTES "We had a really good week of practice and it showed today as we picked up another conference win. It feels good to be back on track with a quick break for the holiday followed up with a midweek game at home on the horizon." - Head Coach Brian Fisher - Monmouth won its eighth consecutive MAAC road game. - Monmouth leads the all-time series with Siena, 4-1. - The Hawks have won four consecutive games against the Saints. - Last season, Monmouth defeated Siena 17-9. - The Hawks wore their white helmets with midnight blue jerseys and white shorts for the first time. NUMBERS CRUNCH - Monmouth equaled its program record for goals scored (17). It was the fourth time the Hawks reached 17 goals in a game and second time this season (Wagner). - The nine-goal win equaled Monmouth's largest margin of victory against a MAAC opponent (Manhattan, 4/25/2015). - Monmouth scored six goals in the second quarter. It was the first six-goal quarter since the Wagner game on Feb. 21. - The Hawks went 4-for-6 on extra-man opportunities. - Bryce Wasserman scored four goals and contributed three assists for a seven-point day. - Wasserman leads Monmouth with 22 goals this season and 87 for his career. - Wasserman extended his program-best points streak to 25 games and his goals streak to 11 straight games. - Wasserman now has 12 career hat tricks and 12 goals in three MAAC games this season. - Zach Clemente registered the third multi-goal game of his career and equaled his career high with three points. - Dylan Schulte scored twice for his second multi-goal game of the season. Schulte now has 39 career goals and 56 career points after also adding an assist in the game. - Brock Anderson had his second two-goal game of his freshman season. He increased his season total to five goals, four of which have come on the man-up unit. - Casey Kimmel had two points for the second time in his rookie season with a man-up goal and an assist. - Griffin Figel scored once and added an assist. He has at least one point in every game this season and 24 career goals. - Anthony Sardo scored the ninth goal of his career and the seventh man-up goal of his career, which is tied for second in team history. - Hunter Jones scored once to increase his season total to 14 goals. - Sean Tornetta, Chandler Vanderbeek and Dakota Dunmire each scored goals. Vanderbeek scored his first of the year, while Dunmire's goal was the first of his career. - Freshman Noah Lode made 15 saves in goal for Monmouth. It was Lode's sixth double-digit save performance. - Gordon Phillips had two assists and Garrett Pfeifer picked up his first-career assist in the win. - Phillips led the Hawks with six ground balls. UP NEXT Monmouth returns home to Kessler Stadium on Tuesday for the first of four consecutive home games. The Hawks host Lafayette on ESPN3 with opening faceoff scheduled for 3 p.m.
