The Saints jumped out to a 13-2 lead at the break before the Jaspers made their move after halftime. Manhattan opened the third period with three-straight scores in quickly trimming the deficit to 13-5 as Hanson found the back of the net twice and Giarratana once. The visitors would briefly answer with a pair of scores in opening up a 15-5 advantage with 1:30 to play in the third. The Jaspers then closed the game with arguably their finest stretch of the season, ripping off seven-straight goals over the 15-plus minutes of the game. Sophomore C.J. Scharf (West Islip, NY / West Islip) concluded the third-period scoring with his first goal of the game off a pass from Giarratana before sophomore Brendon Grinnell (Wakefield, MA / Wakefield Memorial) and freshman Sean MacKinney (Martinsville, NJ / Bridgewater-Raritan) opened the fourth quarter with goals. Hanson followed with back-to-back goals before Giarratana found the back of the net twice in providing the final 15-12 score. NOTES: * Senior Michael Zingaro (Cortlandt Manor, NY / Walter Panas) made 16 saves in his final collegiate game. * Zingaro's performance was the 38th double-digit save performance of his career. * Siena was 0-for-3 on extra-up opportunities. * For the year, Manhattan limited the opposition to a .184 conversion rate (7-of-38) on man-up opportunities, including .067 (1-of-15) during MAAC play. * Giarratana finished the year with 23 goals and 23 assists with the latter ranking sixth in the all-time Jasper single-season annals. * Giarratana now has 83 goals, 45 assists, 128 points and 24 multi-goal games for his career. * His 83 scores rank fifth in the all-time Manhattan career annals. * Thanks to his career-high five goals, Hanson finishes up the year with 20 goals and 18 assists. * Grinnell was the lone Manhattan student-athlete to find the back of the net in all six MAAC games. * 76.2 percent of the Jaspers' goals (93-of-122) and 62.2 percent of their assists (46-of-74) on the year were recorded by underclassmen. * Junior Joseph Bressingham was 12-of-23 on faceoffs with seven ground balls. * Mike Reilly had four goals and two assists while Chris Robertson notched three goals and two assists to pace Siena. * Eric Cecere made 15 saves in earning his first career win for the Saints.
