POUGHKEEPSIE New York – Marist men's lacrosse picked up its first Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference win against Manhattan College 12-4 Saturday afternoon. The offense surged in the third quarter and Brian Corrigan was a fortress between the pipes with 17 saves and an astounding .850 save percentage for the game. The Red Foxes improve to 2-8 overall and 1-1 in conference play while the Jaspers fall to 3-6 and 0-2 in conference play. SUMMARY The Jaspers got on the board first with a man up goal from Sean MacKinney. Marist won the ensuing faceoff and Gannon Morrison found the back of the net to tie it up. Morrison scored again five minutes later but Manhattan quickly responded with a goal of its own to tie it up 2-2 to end the quarter. The Red Fox defense smoothed the Jaspers in the second quarter, limiting them to four shots and keeping them scoreless in the quarter. Kyle Quinn and Thomas Rago added goals to take a 4-2 lead into the half. The offense erupted in the third quarter as the Red Foxes went on a 6-1 scoring run. Jake Weinman scored two shots from behind the back and Jason Intermesoli scored three unanswered goals to fuel Marist's offense.
