The UVM women's lacrosse team wrapped up the non-conference portion of its schedule with a 22-6 defeat to 20th-ranked Dartmouth on Tuesday afternoon at Virtue Field. The Catamounts slip to 7-6 overall while the Big Green improve to 9-4. RELATED LINKS Box Score CatamounTV Highlights HOW IT HAPPENED Dartmouth jumped out to an early 6-0 lead as Katie Bourque (3 goals, 1 assist) recorded the early hat trick, but Vermont quickly cut the margin in half. Alex Vignona found an open Elise Koehl in front of the net, who flicked in a quick shot at the 22:20 mark. Two minutes later, UVM forced a turnover and Jenna Janes finished the chance with her 31st goal of the season. The Cats capped off the run by taking advantage of a Big Green penalty when Jenny Caoili scored the woman-up goal. Near the midway point of the first half, the Green and Gold whittled Dartmouth's lead to 7-4 on a free position opportunity. Grace Giancola drew a pair of defenders then passed off to Dani Paterno for the easy score. Early in the second half, Janes danced off a defender and buried her second goal of the afternoon to stop a scoring run by the Big Green. Koehl added the Catamounts' final goal of the day with 10:30 left in the contest. GAME NOTES Janes and Koehl guided the Cats with two goals apiece. Janes attempted six shots and won a draw control. Koehl fired five shot attempts and picked up a pair of ground balls. Giancola finished the game with two assists, two ground balls, two caused turnovers, and two draw controls. Maddy Kuras made seven saves in goal for the Cats. The Catamounts finished the non-league slate with six victories – the most since beating seven non-conference opponents in 2015. WHO'S NEXT Vermont will host twin state rival New Hampshire for Senior Day, presented by the UVM Alumni Association, on Saturday (April 20).
