EUGENE, Ore. — Hanna Hilcoff scored six times and two of her teammates also had hat tricks, but Oregon spent Sunday's nonconference matchup with San Diego State playing from behind most of the afternoon and lost 18-15 at Papé Field Up 4-3 late in the first quarter and with Hilcoff already halfway to her six goals, the Ducks allowed seven straight to trail 10-4. They fought back within one to open the fourth quarter, 13-12, but SDSU's Deanna Balsama scored three times in the quarter to cap an eight-goal day as the Aztecs fended off Oregon's comeback bid. "We had to keep chipping away," UO coach Chelsea Hoffman said. "Our attackers did what we've been expecting them to do — Hanna had six goals, Lilly Stump with four, Alyssa (Wright) with her first hat trick ever. So, really proud of those guys stepping up. I think we needed to see more production from our midfielders to kind of combat what they were producing on their end." How It Happened: Hilcoff scored to get the Ducks (1-3) on the board first, and she followed Stump's first goal with another as Oregon took a 3-1 lead. When Hilcoff scored again with 3:04 left in the opening quarter, she had a hat trick already and the Ducks led 4-3.
