is now 95 percent of the way to Kevin Lowe's career scoring record - which, by the way, once seemed untouchable - in two-thirds of the number of games that Lowe played at Princeton. Sometimes math can be fun. Sowers had three goals and two assists for a game-high five points to lead Princeton to a much-needed 13-4 win over Dartmouth in Hanover Saturday afternoon. Chris Brown, who has his own place in the Princeton record book, led the Tigers with four goals, and sophomore goalie Erik Peters made 17 saves for an .810 save percentage. Longstick midfielder Andrew Song had a goal for the third straight game. The win was Princeton's first in the Ivy League and came in what essentially was the first of three straight elimination games as the Tigers chase a spot in the league tournament. Next up is a second-straight elimination game, as the Tigers host Harvard Saturday before finishing the regular season at Cornell on April 27. Sowers followed up his 11-point game Tuesday night with five more against the Big Green to give him 235 for his career. He moved past Ryan Boyle into second-place all-time in scoring at Princeton behind only Lowe, a Hall-of-Famer whose 247 career points have stood as the school record for 25 years. Oh, and Sowers has done all this in 40 career games, compared to the 60 that Lowe played at Princeton - and the 57 that Boyle played. Sowers now has 95 goals and 140 assists for his career, leaving him five goals away from becoming the first Princeton player with at least 100 career goals and assists. He also trails only Lowe (174) and Boyle (162) in career assists. As for Brown, he extended his streak of having at least one goal to 25 straight games, which is also every game of his career. He is the only player in Division I right now with at least 20 games played and at least one goal in every game he's played. Princeton and Dartmouth were even midway through the first quarter at 2-2 and 4-3 at the end of one. Dartmouth would then score just once in the final three quarters, a goal late in the third, by which time Princeton led 9-3. Peters was tested early, making more than half of his saves in the first quarter (nine of them) and then four more in the second quarter. In addition to his goal, Song also had a pair of caused turnovers and ground balls as he continues to have a dominant sophomore season. Princeton outshot Dartmouth 52-40. The Tigers now lead the all-time series 58-9.
