MEADVILLE, Pa. – Allegheny hosted Wooster in a North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) men's lacrosse match on Tuesday night (April 26), falling short by an 11-5 final.
After a 3-0 first quarter by the Fighting Scots, Pete Schellbach (New York, N.Y./Salisbury School) got the Gators on the board 5:39 into the second quarter. Later in the frame, Jack Cushwa (Martinsburg, W. Va./Martinsburg) scored a man-up goal, assisted by Logan Sharp (Olmstead Falls, Ohio/Olmstead Falls), but Wooster led by an 8-2 count at intermission.
Nicholas Cimillo (Palm Harbor, Fla./East Lake) scored a trio of second-half goals as the two teams played to an even 3-3 score over the final 30 minutes.
Cassady Bouthet (Vernon, Conn./Rockville) had a game-high five caused turnovers and a team-best five ground balls. Dillon D'Amato (Tolland, Conn./Tolland) and Ryan Mantione (East Northport, N.Y./John Glenn) tied for second on the squad with four ground balls apiece.
David Kratzenberg (Latrobe, Pa./Greensburg Central Catholic) had 10 saves over the final three quarters in goal, his fourth time in double digits this year.
Allegheny will close out the 2022 regular season with a Senior Day match against DePauw at noon on Saturday, April 30 at the friendly confines of Frank B. Fuhrer Field.
