Freshman Zoe Belodeau had four goals to lead No. 14 Penn past No. 22 Johns Hopkins, 12-11, but none was bigger than her fourth of the day.
With under a minute to play and the two teams knocking on the door of overtime, Belodeau cut to goal and fired home the game-winner to give the Quakers an early Top-25 win to their credit.
The game hung in the balance throughout – neither team led by more than two goals – and there were five lead changes and eight ties as each team fought for an early-season win.
In the end, Penn (2-0) was able to hand the Blue Jays (3-1) their first loss of the season.
